I'm thinking that my video card is about to crap out on me. With my box listed below I'm having problems with frame skipping while playing Riddick's Escape from Butcher Bay. I should have no problem with everything maxed out, but it seems to occur about 3 minutes into the game. Anyone have any ideas?

wierd stuff considering you have a really good system. Does this happen with other games or just Riddick in general? Could be a bug and memory leak somewhere too. See if there are any patches for the game.

I'm also playing Halo & MOH and they are maxed out also. It seems to be running ok but I don't think it is running as it should with what I have. Is there a test for memory leaks, though I'm not certian that is a problem in this case. One other thing that I have noticed is that when trying to go back to windows I find my left half of the screen's task bar setting on the right side and can't seem to exit the games cleanly. This is totally weird.

There must be some issue, because the game played fine for me; and I've got a much weaker system than you are running. I realize it's just basic stuff that you have probably already done, but are you turning off your anti-virus, or do you have a lot of processes running when you play the game? Have you tweaked your virtual memory settings in any way?
It was PhotoShop, not a game, but I recently had to put my virtual memory settings back to the default from the recommendation I got from a performance-tweaking site; and, for some reason, your lengthy game-exiting process reminds me of that. I'm sure you stay defragged. I forget which game it was, but I was also getting a weird slowdown from a spyware detector that wanted to start up and run every time I loaded up the game. I changed it to "manual," and the problem stopped.
I know it's not much help, but that's all I can think of. I kind of doubt a bad video card, although you never know, but I'd fiddle with all the settings, first, and try to narrow down exactly what is causing the problem. Good luck. Edward.

Have you got the latest drivers for your video card?

Everything is up to date. I'm starting to lean towards a power supply because I have noticed that my power LED lite works some of the time. The led isn't connected in the normal way to the MOBO but instead it is connected to the power supply. I'm thinking about getting another one on the order of 650W.
