OK, I know it's early, but I really like this game so far. I have only finished the first Campaign mission and I am just beginning to get the hang of the controls. This is my first tactical shooter on any platform. I love how I can give orders to my team mates. No guns-ablazin' in this one.
I went to the local Wal-Mart (the only local store that sells video games) and picked up a copy. Large box with the headset included. Very cool. $40 plus tax. Loaded it up and started the seemingly high learning curve. It seems complicated, but like I said, I am not used to tactical games...yet. It makes me look forward to playing it more and learning everything I can. A couple of weeks and I will be ready to try Xbox Live.

Did you configure it where they chatter in your ear? That's the best part ;)
I love how they did the voice commands, not all of them are listed in the manual, so you can issue many, many more commands than the ones listed.
This is your first Tactical??!!?!? I would have thought you to be a HUGE fan of these. :)
The Rainbow 6 series on PC has been phenomenal since day 1, you should pick one up some day :D:

I have not used the voice commands yet. Is there a place where I can find out what they all are? I think the box lists 89 of them. I just call out the commands and they do them? (Assuming I use the correct wording). I don't have to configure anything else for it to work?

Once you plug in the headset to the controller, you can head into the options menu of the game and configure it for input / output. But, I'm pretty sure it's in "live" when you plug in the unit. You just have to set up whether the team communications are sent to your ear or speakers.
After that, it's merely just being clear and sharp with the commands. They'll step to it when you hear "roger" in your ear. :)
As far as the full list, I've honestly never looked for one, so I just experimented when I was playing. But here's a pretty good looking list. (http://www.talkxbox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1899)
You can drop the "and" out of alot of these, just speak like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons; "Open. Frag. Clear."

Thanks. I have been trying some of the ones listed in the game manual. Maybe it's my southern accent, but I seem to have to say some of them a few times to get my team to react. I find it quicker to just give the orders manually with the controller. I try to speak as clearly as anyone else in the world and I don't have much of a southern drawl, but it still doesn't recognize the commands half the time.
It's still a very fun game. The weapons and their sounds all impress me. The graphics could be better, I guess, but they don't even register as a negative point while actually playing the game.

Try with a little bit of Bavarian accent. :)
I found I had to have the mic really close to my mouth before I could get them to work regularly.

I may not have been speaking loudly enough. I tried it louder and it seems to work better. It's really uncomfortable to sit alone in a room talking out loud to people that are not here with me. Especially when my mom's in the next room knowing no one is in here with me and she keeps hearing me shout "Secure the Hostage!". :joker:
