Sooooo Many discs!!!

Ahhh I am sick of this CD crap. Give me my DVD's!

I look at my wall of games and I see the recent purchases.....

Battlefield Vietnam - 3CD
Mafia - 3CD
Max Payne 2 - 2CD
Far Cry - 5CD
UT2k4 - 6CD (DVD edition was sold out at release around here)
CnC Generals : Zero Hour - 2CD (a FREAKING expansion!)
SW-KOTOR - 4 CD
XIII - 4 CD


AHHHHH!

These were the all the games I bought this year and I have yet to buy one that is a single disc. In fact, I think only a few of the games I bought last year were 1 CD. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head were Delta Force : Black hawk down (not really cause the expansion makes it multiple CD), and Rise of nations (again, the expansion adds another CD).

Give me some DVDs~!!!!

EverQuest 2 will have minimum of 10 CD's they're thinking a 2 dvd version

The circle is complete. Before, we were complaining about too many 3.5" disks. Now, it's too many CDs.

I so agree too.

With DVD-ROM units as standard equipment in even the more modest pre-built, PCs nowadays and DVD-RW finally affordable to the average household in most major markets, it's time for the change we hard core PC gamers have all been waiting for these last few years.

When CD drives first came out, they were on every system, and nobody new what to do with them. The same is happening for DVD drives...

I also agree and would welcome a more manageable/consumer friendly DVD format.

I dread having to install UT2K4 again, bad enough the game takes up 5GB's, let alone having to do the 6 CD swap fest to get it on my system again. Thus I have just let it sit the last couple of weeks.
