Matrix Games and Playnet are thrilled to announce a 14 day free trial of Battleground Europe. Best of all, we have coordinated an invasion! Join the Matrix and Playnet staff and the many Matrix fans as we join the Allies THIS weekend, January 28th and 29th. All weekend long we will have a dedicated chat channel and be coordinating attacks. This is a great opportunity to fight side by side with all your matrix friends, and it’s free!

To join please go to www.battleground-europe.com and download the demo from the link available there (Link will be available starting Friday, Jan 27th around 4:00 PM Eastern). Then, create a free trial account. Once you have done so, login and have your character join the allies (Britain or France). Click on the “F6 button” in the chat bar and select “Custom” and enter the numbers “79.” Now, press F6 and type a greeting. The Matrix Allied Taskforce will fill you in on the basics and where to go from there! Enjoy and thanks for playing.



The Battleground Europe world features over 600 cities and 29,000 buildings. The zoneless map covers 350,000 Km (Over 217,000 miles) of terrain with a whopping 4,000,000 trees. Battles can rage for days and the servers can support thousands of players online simultaneously.

This is not just another WWII shooter.

Battleground Europe is a true WWII sim with an historical and realistic physical damage model (no hitpoint system).

Rambo-style fighting has no chance here. Only cooperation and communication is promoted.

The latest addition to this game is physicly located Brigades and Divisions that can be encircled and routed from the game world unless they can break out and reestablish their supply lines. If a unit is routed from the front will it take six hours until it can come back again.

Battleground Europe is now not only limited to advanced tactics, but the out come of the war (we don't fight over a small single map) is now dependent on how the strategical wars evolves to. The strategical war is runned by the two sides High Command; Allied High Command (AHC) and Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW).

Are you affiliated with Matrix, G Rider? I always appreciated the work they did with Steel Panthers, keeping that game alive. One of my all time favorites.

I noticed from looking at the Matrix website they apparently picked up the old Talonsoft Battleground series. Those were some great games and I was wondering what was planned for them.
