Yep, the wife bought me an X-Box today. I haven't owned a console system for 5 years, so it should be alot of fun.

oh, it will be lou. I've had mine for almost a year now, and I'm loving it.

I'm also thinking of getting a Gameboy Advance or Gamecube, just haven't decided which yet. I like the idea of a little portable gaming system. Of course, maybe I should for Sony's new one...

Have you got any games yet?

I've had mine since launch and loving it. Get XBox Live if you have broadband. Lots of games to play online and EA Sports finally giving XBL support for their games =]

Xbox live is very good imo.My fave game on it has to be Project Gotham Racing 2.I have a Gamecube but since Nintendo seem to be the only ones who make good games for it,I have not used it lately.I want Metroid Prime 2
please!

Chylde Roland: Nope, just renting for now. I've played "Secret weapons over Normandy", and now I'm playing "Enter the Matrix.

DanTheManPR: Sorry, I played it on my PC and was highly dissapointed.

And as far as X-Box live, no intention of using it soon.

IMHO Halo was just a mediocre shooter by PC standards. However for people who only played consoles, it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Consoles usually don't see very many shooters, let along good ones.

I agree that many of the people who praise Halo as the greatest FPS haven't played the finest PC shooters, but IMO I wouldn't call it mediocre even by PC standards. What made it unique for me was the addition of the vehicles, the assistance of the marines, a pretty good Sci-Fi setting, and a decent AI. Playing it, I sometimes found it to be repetitive but I think the hybrid aspects combined to make it a unique experience. Currently I'm playing The Chronicles of Riddick and I think this may be my favorite single player FPS on a console. The presentation in TCOR is very well done and the gameplay isn't too shabby either. Starbreeze really did an outstanding job on turning a movie based premise into a captivating FPS.

Well, PC shooters are my favorite genre, and I thnink Halo is one of the best shooters. Of course, it really shines when playing co-op on legendary on the first five levels. The PC version was severely hampered by the lack of co-op, and the crappy performance. Another thing - Hooking up four Xboxes to play a four-hour round of CTF pro on Blood gulch is one of the best multiplayer experiences you can have. The multiplayer on Halo for PC just can't compete. Especialy since they ruined the balance of the game with that damn newb cannon.

So, yeah, the PC version was a bit disapointing.

Halo was just sloppy work on the PC.The Net Code was awful. To much lag.
The PC gets loads more FPS compared to the Consoles. My fave one of late has been Far Cry.What is comming out first Doom 3 or Half life 2?

HL2 is MEANT to be out first, but really, who knows with those 2? ;)

Other games to look for, lou are Ninja Gaiden, Full Spectrum Warrior, KOTOR (if you haven't played it on PC).

And ones good for some multiplayer action and fun sp are also:

Mech Assault, Crimson Skies and the Hunter series (Hunter: The Reckoning and Hunter: The Redeemer).

Great stuff!!!

Im playing Ninja Gaiden at the moment. Its quite tricky im on Level 10 I think.
Good game though, If you are not a fan of Boss fights ignore this game though as there are about 2 per level.
