The first thing to do is read the documentation that came with the game as there is almost always a way to do that already in the program. Otherwise you might try a program like fraps. I believe its fraps.net. Hope this helps!

Fraps is a good way to go... However if you want to share the video after your done I suggest using an app. like Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org ) and Use a codec such as DivX or XVid. They are the most used Codec’s amongst people that watch gamer videos and they can save a lot in file size and transfer times. Not to mention, if you do it just right you could even keep video quality at the same time.

For years now I have been connecting my graphics card TV-Out s-video to a DVD-RAM recorder. I click record and then start playing a game. The recorder records everything that is viewed on the Monitor.
After I finish recording, I change the cables back into my PC using a Pinnacle PCI700 card. There are many other ways to send the recorded video back into the PC. An ADS Tech DVD EXpress external box is another way.

Then I capture all the recorded video to my hard drive and edit it. I use Pinnacle Studio 10.
There are 2 short video clips of mine here >

The best free conversion utility I've run into is Stoik Video Convertor - free for a full year - all it does is put a watermark logo in the corner of the video.
Fraps is free but only allows 30 seconds of recording at a time and also uses a watermark - but Stoik removes it when you convert and puts it's own in there. It's no big deal.
you can get the Stoik convertor at download.com I believe - very easy to use and quick. convert to WMV broadband 768/mpbs format ideally to shrink the size of the files for streaming on the web etc....,
