I read on the Bellatorius forums that you guys took down Domo. Big congrats. That battle is tough to coordinate and keep controlled. Getting Domo down takes great coordination, communication and forces many many people to be 100% "on task" during the entire battle. Best of luck on getting the Priest quest there Nef!

We have downed Rag 2 times of our last 3 attempts. I think there are many variations of the common strategy. Our method is to DPS him so fast that we never get a second "Sons" Phase. We've never managed to kill him after a second "Sons" Phase. Achieving this high DPS can be really tough with high FR gear (due to missing other stats). The great part about this battle is that you don't really have to worry about Aggro. I go full DPS 2-3 seconds after the start of battle and hit Rapid Fire right away. If you time it right you can get off a 2nd Rapid Fire after the Sons. Also, having your Lung Juice from Burning Steppes (+50 stam) and Wipper Root Tubers from Felwood (free health potion) really help improve your survivability.

See you all in game,

Thanks Elder!.. if you would have been there, you wouldn't have thought we had a chance in hell of doing it, because we got off to such a bad start. Folks not getting into position, someone aggro'd Domo on accident, before we were rdy.... it was very frustrating, but when the smoke cleared and a few officers thought it would be best to call it a night, the group rallied for 1 more shot.

We all got into position quickly, and everyone was on their game this time, and he went down with about 10 of us left. I hope we get a chance to try a real attempt at Rag this week. I think if we can get through the 1st wave of sons, we should be fine... we have tons of good DPS ppl, and if they all show for that fight, we can do it.

Kickoff starts tonight at 7pm, with the first 3 bosses again. See you in game,

As Face would say, "I love it when a plan comes together!".

Why do you guys choose to do MC in 3 nights? Does it still take a long time to clear through the trash mobs? Perhaps for loot/rotation reasons? We now do everything in one night, but it took a while to get to this stage. Each week we seem to get faster and faster.

Best of luck,

Well, obviously we are still working on "clearing" MC, and have just beaten Domo once... so our plan was this...

Thurs: Get some "non-core" raiders into MC to get experience and some epic items... and clear through 3 bosses. That basically only took us 2 hrs, including explaining strats, and a quick IF break, before Geh.

Fri: The "core" group would clear through to Domo, and hopefully be successful in killing him again... and if not, then still have some time to try several times.

Sat: A full time period to focus on Rag, including a break if needed, to try and successfully clear MC.

Thats the idea, and I'm sure if we are able to clear MC a few weeks in a row, we will be doing full runs on Fridays at that time.

Might be a little slow right now, but it will pick up soon.

That's totally the right approach man. We've been slowly improving our speed over several months and only now are we able to run everything in one night. We used to take 2 breaks and drop 1-2 repair bots before even Domo. This week we flew through, taking 1 break, and 1 repair bot before Domo. Then ported to IF and dropped Rag. Then ported to IF again and dropped Onyxia. MC - Ragnaros - Onyxia in one night! Sweetness.

Of course on Sunday we went to BWL and got schooled on 3 attempts. :scared: We improved significantly from our 1st attempt, but it should take a few more before we drop the first boss. The fight is crazy chaotic and makes Domo look like a Deadmines run.

See you all in game,

Jeeez Elder, now I'm officially jealous. :p: ... bastard.

Ok, so ... do you guys pick the same 40 ppl every week for this, or do you have new ppl in your raids every week. For some reason we have about 30 "core" people who are there every time... and the other 10 spots seems to be different every week. This causes a lot of headache with Onyxia, and has slowed us down a little on our progress. I just wondered if you guys have people that dont show up, or show up late.... and have to fill your spots with new people, who dont have as much experience as the rest of your core group... and if this does happen to you... then it seems that it doesnt effect you guys much at all.

Grats on your progress.... were getting there...

We really only let "Veteran" members go to MC. We used to have a "core" group of about 30+ and then added folks like me (when I joined) to the raid as room allowed. Now days, each class has a rotation going with like one spot per class not rotating (MT, Main puller, etc). Invites happen 15-30 minutes before the raid starts. If you're late there is a good chance that you'll lose your spot, and also your DKP/loot/etc. Most "vets" get to go to 2 out of every 3 or 4 MC raids. We just have enough exp now that we never have to explain strategies except for Domo and Rag. Newbies go to a seperate Vent channel to learn strats while the rest of the raid assigns buffs, pulls, marks, etc. All of this really lets us keep things moving at a good clip.

Getting the raid to start on time is a huge way to improve how long the night will last. I highly encourage you guys to implement a similar strategy to get folks to show up on time.

BTW... if you all see room for a 42 Rogue in your rosters let me know. Slygrubel would like to find a home among friends and talent as well as experience life outside OEG. Obviously, Sly is not interested in MC/Onyxia at this point. I just want to get a feel for some other Endgame guilds out there and see their personality and help out wherever I can.

Best,
Elder
