My next upgrade would have to be RAM if I upgrade at all.

Hard drive first, that's the most urgent. Those 80 GB are getting filled up way too fast, and it's rattling so much it probably is close to dying too. But before Oblivion comes I'll have to get a better videocard, and getting a better videocard means getting a PCI-E capable mobo, and so the upgrade cycle goes on and on. And I definitely need more RAM too, ever since I upgraded from Photoshop CS to CS2, I noticed the limits 512 mb RAM bring. I probably need 2 GB at least. Bleh, I wish I was rich...

I heard that. Being rich would sure make keeping up with new computer technology a lot easier. I just bought a GeForce 6600GT for my ageing system to make it another year before I upgrade; but then the only sensible thing to do will be to buy a complete, new, system. Even then, I will probably build or buy something that is about a year old, technology wise, instead of the cutting edge, super-expensive, stuff. At my age, and with my income, being a year behind the times is no big deal, and it sure makes this gaming hobby more affordable. Edward.

I placed an order with New Egg for a few items actually. New motherboard, ram, processor, new case. I'll be transferring my Antec 430 powersupply, 6600gt, 80gb hard drive, sound card and wireless network card. This will be my first build from scratch so Im pretty excited. The new items should be here Tues, with the Case coming in a day later on Wednesday.

Get ready to give me some trouble shooting advice! lol

I'm upping my processor. My MB is an Asus P4P800E deluxe. I have 1.5 gig ram. 2 HD's with a total of 120 gig and a 9800 Pro. My processor is a 2.4 so that's next in line for an upgrade. The rest will get me another year and then it's time to do a complete rebuild although building from scratch now is still an option I'm considering.

Celeron D is a good CPU for the price, but I would see a huge benefit going up to a new P4. Definately, CPU for me.

I'm going 64 bit for xmas but that requires a new mobo and cpu, I also might be doing pci-e while I'm at it but I don't know yet.
I put CPU because it's what I'm really upgrading and the others are just necessities.

Definitely processor for me. I can up it one more time with my current mobo, so I think I will. I can get up to 3.2 GHz on the next upgrade, which should do me for a bit longer.
