Morrowind movies not playing

I've been playing Morrowind off and on, and finally made it to the Azura shrine. Since it was kind of hard to find, I looked online for a walkthrough. In the walkthrough they mentioned a movie was supposed to play after you get the star from the statue. In my game, there was no movie playing. I should probably mention that even though I own the game legally, I'm using a no-CD patch so that I don't have to have the CD in the drive everytime I want to play the game. Could that be the cause of the movie not playing?

Also, I found the movie file in the installation directory and tried to play the movie using media player, which didn't work. Do any of you know of a way to either get the movies playing in game, or to use something like media player to play the movies separately.

I guess I could save my character file and reinstall the game, but if there's another way, please let me know.

I don't really know anything about that but I would assume not having the CD in the drive is the reason why it's not playing...

For most games, the movies stream off the CD (so they don't take up space on the hard-drive).

Yep that would be my guess too. I would reload the game with the cd in. That's a pretty cool cut scene worth watching.

Thanks for the help. I saved my character files, uninstalled the game, used regcleaner to removed every trace of it from my registry, ran Norton speed-disk, then re-installed it. I saw the intro movie for the first time, so far so good.......
