View Full Version : Im breaking open..the lost coast thread!

There is a deafening silence about this game, unless its me being too lazy to pick up the threads. Its running just a little less FPS than HL2 and the HDR looks a little better than DoD, and er....thats about it!
One thing that hit me straight away is that after playing FEAR the AI in HL2 is like shooting fish in a barrell - retarded fish at that. Any thoughts?

I couldn't agree more with you on the AI... I never realyl did care for the AI in HL2 since its a basic set of scripts that run the AI in HL2 (IE; move forward, move back, strafe, shoot). The AI in HL2 is really nothing compared to F.E.A.R. or even that of FarCry of which the AI in FarCry is very much like the AI in F.E.A.R.

I haven't actually tried the Lost Coast yet so I can't really comment on it and to be honest I don't think I feel like reinstalling steam and redownloading everything again. :eek:

I've seen some pictures and a video, but I am sure that doens't do it justice. My motherboard is out and about getting replaced in California, and my laptop simply can't handle HL2. It is on my list, no doubt, once everything is back together!

I got it, but my computer can't run it worth crap. It's very short - you'll be done in 15 minutes. From the gameplay point of view, this is nothing special.

In its defense it was always its intention to be a "showcase" for HDR. I do like the effects and I can imagine how it could be implimented with music etc for dramatic effect. It would look very good in vampire maskerade?
