Of course it does, but much better. Here are some more for s&g. The game looks so much better live though.

hahaha! Exactly. Looks like I'm in no need to pick this game up, after all. :D:

If you're playing Doom 3 rather than Q4 then that's your problem. :)

If a demo coems out I'd definitely try it, but ain't no way in hell I'm slapping down 50 bucks for this, no matter how it looks :)
But anyway, how does it play? Any better than doom3? Honestly, I haven't been impressed with a shooter from Raven since the first Soldier of Fortune...I pretty much ignored the FPS aspects of the Jedi Knight series.

I want this game, but my cd/dvd drive is broken, I am out of space on my HD, I would have to run it at low settings, I have no time for games, and it does not fit in my budget. I would say the odds are against me on this one.

Definitely should be more of a $30 purchase since the SP game is kind of short (10-15 hours).
I thought it looked too much like Doom 3 also from the original screens prior to the game's release - but after actually playing it, it just blows Doom 3 away in performance, level of detail, character models, weapons, etc.., etc..,
Unfortunately it is really just an eye candy game - but it's so immersive and detailed that it never seems to get old - very polished, non-buggy game too, just really impressed with the quality of it all-around.
that said I am a big Raven fan and a fan of the first two Quake games and JK II and SOF. Never did play Elite Force but obviously that was also highly regarded.

Nice screen shots.
I've had the game a few weeks, and just finished playing through the first time. Decent eye-candy, some newer "toys" to play with, such as the hoverjeep and walker. Got some screenshots myself, will have to process them from TGA to JPEG and post them soon.
I found that the original Quake "quirk" where two sprites will fight each other, if you induce one to shoot the other, is still there! They don't care about you, until one kills the other! Whazoo!!
Definitely the game is worth having, but map loading times of over 30 seconds kills the enthusiasm! Will I play it again? Sure, and also try different settings to improve loading time. RTCW had almost as much scene detail and background action, but loaded in less than 10 seconds!
And the sprite outlines were better formed!
My latest "toy":
Windows 2000 Pro, SP4, and Windows 98SE, dual-boot.
Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz 800 FSB w/ HT,
1 x 512 Mb DDR 400 Corsair memory
Asus/nVidia FX 5200 AGP 8x 128 Mb
Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 80 Gb
Chaintech CT-S848P mobo
450 watt ATX mid/full tower
SB Live! 5.1 Digital PCI card, with surround speakers
120 Gb S-ATA to be added.
NEC MultiSync LCD 1700V monitor
Plus KVM switching for multiple systems.
Toshiba 16x DVD reader, and a Lite-On
12x/10x/32x CD-RW.
..Karl.

Are you kidding, this game can use up to and exceding to 256mb of textures that must be loaded in each level. Thats about 1/4 the size o the entire RTCW game. Not to mention all the shader effects, real time dynmic shadows and multiple light sources. Technology has come along way from when geforce 3 and 4 were good video cards. I cant wait to see what the new wolfernstein will look like and what raven is planning.

Just tried the demo, and not too bad actually. Probably wait until the price drops way down and I do a PC upgrade, but based on the demo, its interesting, moreso that Doom 3 I'd say.

Ditto! Seems nice, good fast-paced action, and there's always a lot happening around you that makes the game more intense.

It's definitely a fun game, but yeah like too many others these days it's length doesn't really warrant a $50+ purchase.
