I am concerned that this nominee (Harriet Miers) will
not fully support women's issue .. particularly in
terms of abortion and any other issues that may come
up over the next 20 or so years. I found this link in
Yahoo:
http://www.townhall.com/blogs/c-log/J%20Garthwaite/story/2005/10/03/159236.html

Can anyone offer any additional information?

Thx!!!

It's not her job to support anything, her job is to uphold the U.S. constitution and the laws of this nation.

Yeah, I sure hope she stands up for the killing of unborn babies. We need more of that.

There will always be a potential for problems while your Government can influence the judicial system.

Idk if this is a way of criticising abortion or what but if it is it's a very limited view. What happens to a 16-yr old girl who just can't take good care of her kid ? This sounds like a religious conservative bout of humour

In this era of disposible things, a ME attitude, and instant gratification, why should disposible life be any different? Society today has no respect for life. Just look at the reasons for killing or attempting to kill another person that we get today.

It comes own to morals, and this country's morals are going to 'hell in a handbasket!'.

The law does not make her keep it. Perhaps if '16 year olds' had to give birth, the '16 year old' will take precautions not get pregnant in the first place.

Life is precious, but you wouldn't think so.

Sure, she doesn't have to keep it, but I certainly believe ppl should be allowed to do what they want in this field at least. If the kid's not going to get enough love or lead a happy life and it's still only an embryo, can you really blame a woman for getting an abortion ? At that stage of development, the embryo cannot think or feel yet.
