Last week a new version of Spybot Search and Destroy was released. Find version 1.3 here. (http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10289035.html)
I highly recommend using Spybot along with Adaware to do the best job at keeping spyware off your pc. Each manages to pick up what the other misses. I believe you'll need to remove previous versions of Spybot before installing this one.
Offers some nice new features including real time web browsing protection. Personally I didn't load it because it's just another resource being used on my pc, but it's good for those who are not educated in spyware.

cool I'm actually looking for something that does that but I want one that constantly monitors rather then just surfing the web. I'm trying to put together a whole package with NOD32 being the best anti virus program, combined with BOClean best anti-trojan program (both programs run realtime protections but use almost no system resources). So now I'm searching for anti-spyware for a near perfect 100% security =]

I managed to find an anti-spyware program like that BUT I hear alot of people have it report false positives to make the program look good so the quest still continues to find something like that =]

You got some linkage there, Zedd? I'm interested in NOD32 and BOClean.

Thanks!

.

Thanks for the link Tim.

I just downloaded and installed the new version of SB: S&D after uninstalling the last version. Even though I ran the older one just last night, it still caught 59 new problems and fixed them all. It also immunized my system from a larger batch of adware crap, made an (optional) Windows registry back-up for me during the install process, gave me the option to scan for / block new spyware programs while online and seemed to scan the system faster than before.

FYI: For any dial-up users here - The download file is only 4.5 MB so it will not take all day to get this useful, FREE program that helps deal with nasty adware junk, which also robs you of system resources and valuable bandwidth. So it is well worth the time.

Cheers, Terry

BOClean is currently the leading anti-trojan application. Your anti-virus programs just catch the general trojans but not the special ones. BOClean is cool though, it has a huge database and updates daily. Even if it cant clean the trojan (some like Roings can so far be only removed by formatting your system) it will prevent them from launching and doing any harm. You can get it here: http://www.nsclean.com/boclean.html

CompUSA has it for $26.01
