Microsoft Game Studios announced today that Fable: The Lost Chapters for Windows has gone gold and will materialize in stores on September 20. Role-playing fans yearning for a rich adventure will find much to engage them in Fable: The Lost Chapters which builds upon Fable's gameplay with spectacular new spells, devastating new weapons and stout new armor, all of which will be needed to contend with new monsters and other threats in the treacherous Northern Wastes.

Found it here (http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10077&newsid=41220).

So does anyone think this RPG will be a game worthwhile picking up? My RPG tastebuds have come alive and are hankering for something new and tasty.

Define your RPG tastebuds? Having played it on the XBox, I would liken it more to a Zelda style game (as far as gameplay mechanics are concerned) rather then KoTOR or a J-RPG. I know my wife has been eagerly anticipating this as the XBox version had a lot of problems working on our system... all five copies of Fable. Even still, she loved what she was able to play.

This game is supposed to be really updated in the way Peter Molyneiux really wanted it to be. So it may turn out to be a great game. I'd wait for a few reviews to be sure the new content is worth it.

Not really... not like was originally proposed anyway. However, from the looks of it a lot of new content has been added such as more land, missions and weapons. Knowing a lot of the promises that didn't get put in it is still a bit dissapointing, but, overall it is still a good game that should be longer and more worth the money. Plus, my wife is making me buy it for her.

I will be intersted to hear some thoughts on the PC version. I never played the XBOX version, simply because I don't play XBOX, but the game always sounded enticing.

Anyone here getting it besides Rob? Even if not, I woulnd't mind a bit of feedback from you, Rob, if you can draw your wife from it, heh!

I'll probably get it, if the reviews are somewhat decent. I'll let you know what I think when (if) I get it. :):

Fable on Xbox was a top quality game! Just to short :( I'd like to see a sequel but if the pc has more missions and a low price count me in!

The new Fable is not a sequel, but an extended cut. The PC version is going to be $49.99 but the XBox version, which will be released a month later will only be $19.99 and will come out as a Platinum Hit.

I wish they'd make another one.....but actually make it like project ego was supposed to be.

NO RESTRICTED PATHWAYS.

It was supposed to be an "open" world, but alas it ended up with pathways similar to KOTOR.

It's an ok game, can be quite fun at times, but it's not a "revolution" of rpgs.

Appreciate all the feedback. So the game isn't open ended ala Morrowind but is more like KOTOR, eh? I was kind of hoping for something more open ended. But I'll still keep my eye on it and look for feedback once the game is released. Maybe the new content will put it over the edge? Could be, eh?!?

Lets say the open endedness falls between KOTOR and Morrowind. I find it less restrictive then KOTOR and a lot more restricted then Morrowind.

And Stiler, Lionhead has confirmed they are working on the sequel for the XBox 360. I will try to find a link to the article.

The Xbox version had too many loading sequences and convoluted controls using a gamepad IMO. Cramming a ton of options with no mouse-click interface options really makes it a pain going through screen menus and pushing button after button.

I finished the game and enjoyed it the first time, despite it's major annoyances. The combat is not the greatest and there's too much button mashing on the Xbox IMO as well, during combat, and the camera is another story (passable but a bit confusing in combat in particular, and the targeting system was screwy as well).

If they improve on those issues and the interface, I have no idea if any of that changes, then I'll probably get it at some point after a price drop. It's definitely worth buying if you're eager for a new RPG though I think.
