Was just reading about the upcoming WinXP SP2 in a ZDnet article this morning and I like some of the new security features like an improved, built-in Windows Firewall that loads first and defaults to ON if another one is not installed on your system. Evidently there are still millions of home, small office, corporate network and other PCs logging on every day with zero firewall protection. This will at least afford all users some basic protection at boot-up. Of course, for all of us who already have a good firewall, our first choice will be the default program, so there should be no conflict between MS and third party vendors who offer more comprehensive web security products.

But in the meantime, I agree that the sooner you can install a new security patch or update your AV defintions the better.
