I bought KOTOR when it first came out for the PC. Started it. Decided it was too consolish and put it aside. I finished Freedom Fighters a few weeks ago and wanted to start something new but didn't want to spend any money on games. Decided to give KOTOR a second try.

I still don't think the opening sequence shows the game at it's best but once I got past it and used to the mechanics..... this game is freaking awesome!!!

Good plot twists, good characterization, good implementation of Star Wars universe into an RPG. If you like Star Wars and RPGs, go out and get this game! I hope the sequel is as good.

I'm well into the story now. My favorite Jedi skill is "Throw Lightsaber". I came upon some bad guys fighting some Wookies. Tossed the ol' light saber. 1.....2.....3. Took them all down with one toss. Cool. :shades:

I was also afraid that it would be too consolish for me, but I'm crazy about the game. I've played it three times so far and I'll probably boot it up again. Some great characters and some of them are just hysterical, as well.

I'm thinking of starting it again since I'm out of school now. I only got as far as the sweres in the underworld (I saved the wooke or chubaca thing) and then stoped playing cuz I lost interest.

Already have KOTOR atop my most recent RPG must-play list. Just have to finish a few little titles also missed in the past couple of years like NWN Gold and HotU plus all the best modules along with Morrowind GOTY, Gothic 2 and the last little bit of Arx Fatalis. So I am "only" a scant 400 or 500 gaming hours away.

Woohoo! KOTOR here I come... someday, uh maybe... next year?

Finished. Awesome game. I recommend it to everyone. I saw the price was down to $29.99 in most places. Definitely worth it.

I'm jumping up and down waiting for the sequel. :cheer:

Meantime, I have to find something else to play.

I finished the game the first time on the light side, and then made good progress as a dark side jedi the 2nd time round - until games like Far Cry, PK and COH distracted me altogether...I was having a lot of fun with it the 2nd time through. I'll certainly pick it up again soon where I left off.

I did wait a month or two to start it again after finishing it the first time though, and that break seemed to help.

Definitely one of my fav RPG games ever, as I'm just burnt out on midevil fantasy settings and isometric/top-down games with 2 inch high character models etc.., so any 3rd/1st person RPG that comes out with a modern engine and some creative twists, I am all over it.

I'll just second what everyone else said. Great game, great plot, very fun gameplay, very nice graphics, and it's definitely not too consolish. :): I played through it three times already, and enjoyed it a lot each time through.

The part in which you become fully dark side and can't turn back is awesome and so is the dark side ending. It was making me feel guilty :):
