I'll start one.

Named Amanyet, Paladin (Eternal Outcasts)
Grouped with us in Razorfen Down, only roll I won was on a chest, while waiting for him to roll, he went up to the chest and ninja-looted all uncommon items...

Too bad the game doesn't allow me to launch a fireball up his ass straight through to his mouth...

I posted this in the private section didn't I? Or did you move it? Either way, definitely keep in the private section.

You forgot to put Vil ... oh wait. He can read this list right. Damn.

Let's see who i have on my ignore list.....

Zrieprakis
Diefledrmaus
Strahd
Kazgorath

Hmmm. I'm starting to see a trend here.

I solo most of the time. I can honestly say I have not had any terrible experiences when grouping, just some annoying ones. Three guys I was with in stockades completed the quest they wanted and ditched me. Not mad enough to remember their toon names.

Someone define "ninja looter" for me please.

Bruenor

Hmm, not so much a definition as an example:

Say your in a group and a certain class set item drops, like Beaststalker's for hunters. Usual ethics is that everyone but that class will roll on that item, thereby ensuring that the specific class will get an item towards their set. A "Ninja Looter" is typically someone who will purposely roll on these items when they either can't use it period or simply do not need, generally for the purpose of pitching it for Gold (most of the stuff is BoP as well, so its pitched to vendor only).

That being said, accidents happen and I only label someone a ninja looter when they made their actions were a result of their intent and not a mistake.

Another example:

I was in Westfall with my warrior and saw a chest in a Defias camp. I pulled 2 of the 3 mobs and was dealing with them, then a rogue ran in, killed the other one, and looted the chest.

I was clearing the camp, taking most of the risk, and the rogue (Daani, in fact) took next to no risk and got the chest. It can't be helped, but it's very bad ettiquette to wait for someone to clear a camp, then go take the chest for yourself.

When I hear that term, I think of Chylde's example. I have had that happen to me a lot. I cansider that sneaky and dishonest. That's why I wanted to be sure what everyone else was thinking.

In Mando's example, unless it was discussed a head of time, I don't see a problem wiith that. They shared the same amount of risk and effort and, providing they obtained it fair and square, they have the same right to the loot as anyone else. What they ultimately do with it is irrelevant. Wouldn't you sell that item if you no longer needed it?

I always try to follow the "need before greed" motto but that's just me. Not everyone plays the same way.

That is an argument that does get made from time to time, but I have found that most people like to play with the rules that state that if a "class specific" item drops, then you allow that class in your party to have the first chance at rolling on it.

If those people already have the item, or choose to pass, then everyone does the "random roll" and can do with it what they want.

I agree that you all are taking the risk, by being in the group, its just that the dungeons are setup to have certain class items in them, and people go in a party specifically to obtain a "class set item".... be it Head/Chest/legs whatever.... all the other items that randomly drop are the ones the whole group rolls on, ... and there is plenty to go around in my opinion.

The definition gets even more hectic when you deal with purple items.... just wait...

I finally do have a name to add to this list. I believe it is spelled Moerder. He is a "griefer" and an *******. He interfered in a quest Jorlad was doing, making it unable to be completed and then insulted him. At the advice of some of the guild members online at the time, Jorlad tried to report to a GM but I'm afraid he did not express himself clearly and the GM got the impression he was reporting a quest problem. I sent my own e-mail last night expressing my concern and demanding that something be done. My impression of Blizzard leads me to believe nothing will be done, however. Needless to say, I will be looking around for Mr. Moerder this weekend.

Just curious,.... could you say what the issue was.... normally the only way another player can prevent someone from completing a quest is if he was from the Horde side, and killing the quest NPC..

I just wanted to understand the context in which he was griefing. Sorry to hear that Jorlad had to be exposed to jerks like these.

Quest in Stormwind. I sort of remember it. You start a conversation with a guy that leads to him attacking you. This Moerder was hanging around while Jorlad was doing this. When the NPC went red, this guy attacked and killed him before Jorlad could. No credit for the quest.

It's not that difficult to interfere in a quest. I've done it, inadvertantly, myself. If this was all that happened, I would just think that the guy was trying to help and was just stupid. However, he then told him he was a "stupid noob" or something to that effect and took off. Therefore, I assume his actions were deliberate.

I am easy going in most respects but don't make the mistake of messing with my kids.
