Please folks.....post here if you "invite" a new member to the guild. We have requested that Officers post, and inquire about potential members before they invite them to the guild.

If there are no issues with the person, then when they get the green-light, please post a reply here that says they have been invited to the guild.

That way we can check these Forums for the info. and it allows us to.....

1. Not continually bug you with whispers, asking who the new person is.

2. See who actually did the recruiting and inviting

3. See the responses from fellow guildmates on the issue.

Thank you for doing this small favor for us......

I've been playing my alt lately and as he is un-guilded I've been out of touch in-game with the guild. I was on briefly as Daz last night and saw a bunch of names I've never seen before. Do we have some new members or a crop of new alts?

I think we have 2 new members..... and I'm going to spell one name wrong, but I'm sure they know who I mean.

Feret and Chavosat (sp)

The other one (mommie) was in the guild a while back but had to leave for a small period of time for personal reasons. I know that there is an alt or 2 of Kasander and Aldarius, but I think those are labeled... as is any alt of Moonwind or Dathor.

Chavosat was discussed by the guild and done the correct way, with the exception of putting a post here for people like yourself, who may not have been present when we talked about him. ( I believe he is a friend of iinferno and Kasander).

Feret was a recent member, and I have nothing against him... it's just that he was put into the guild without anyones knowledge, and there is nothing here to reference... so thats why I put this post up.

Ya Feret just kinda popped up, yesterday was my first time on in a few days so I asked the wife where he came from, she didn't know either.

No problems with him either from my end, but a simple post or somekind of warning of incoming members should be made I would think.

Please note, I am glad we have new members... hehe, don't want or need this to turn into a bitch session about new members. If you're reading this, welcome to the guild

It may not have been clearly communicated to Dathor that we would like a bit of discussion about recruits first, before inviting.

So, yes, we should be clear about that. I'll remind people of it tonight, and this post serves as a good reminder, because we should have posted Chaovarat's name here as well.

I'm happy to see new members, too!

As long as the guy's ok, I don't think a big deal should be made of it. However, if there is a particular process that needs to be used we should make sure everyone understands it clearly.

Yes, I hope it didnt seem like I was miffed at any of the new members, cause this post was only to "poke" certain officers... as a reminder.

When I start seeing several whispers back and forth wondering where the new people are from, or what the story is on them.... then it bugs me that the policy wasn't followed.

Friends of guildies are great... more power to them, it's the strangers that no one knows, that I'm cautious of... thats all.

Ok, so slap my hand, I was messaged 5 times while I was on with an alt, while other officers were on to invite him to the guild. 1 of the requests came from one of our current members who was on line at the time. It got so bad, that I couldn't even complete the quests that I was doing because of the chat going on between him and myself.

So I guess that now we have to tell people that msg us in game, that we have to run it by our other officers prior to inviting them into the guild. This may hamper our recruiting efforts.

The other thing is that ALL members should be asked to check if there is an officer on line prior to arbitrarily telling someone to msg one person or another about joining the guild. It's either that or we go to an application process from our site to send someone to, for joining.

Dath......

Another point about this is that a couple of days before I seem to remember requests for Mommie and Chaovarat to be invited to the guild in guild chat, and Celyse invited them to the guild. While I have nothing against any new members, if Ferat wasn't discussed in this forum first, then the 2 others should not have been invited without first going through this either.

As for Mommie, while having been a previous member of the guild, I remember Celyse removing that character a month or two ago since there was no activity by thay member in the guild for around 2 months.

So bottom line, when someone asks me in game if they can join our guild, I will tell them that we have to discuss it in our guild forum and it may be a day or so before I can invite them........

Thanks Dathor, I read this post after I made my reply in the other section above.

I think what you said is the way I have interpreted our new Guild rules to be, and I think people can wait a few days for approval... that is not unreasonable.

I disagree. This is an online gaming guild not a job that you have to wait "days" to hear about. If we become to rigid we scare people away. Or we appear to be snobs with our noses stuck so high into the air we trip over our own feet.

I can see bringing up the person's name in guild chat first. But as far as getting everyone's veiw on that person just how are you going to guarantee that happening? Everyone gets busy with real life and sometimes isn't here for weeks on end....... you going to wait until that person comes back to get their view on a prospective guild member? Do you think the prospective guild member is going to wait that long? I don't think so.

The guild has officers for a reason. To see that the guild runs smoothly. Now if I put in guild chat ........ so and so wants to join the guild, does anyone have a problem with that?........ and if I don't hear a negative comment on the person I'm likely to invite that person to join.

Personalities get in the way of reason in the online gaming world. So someone doesn't phrase something just right and ticks off a guild member....... do the rest of us automatically have to dislike that person and refuse them admittance to the guild? Some might wish to follow group think but I do not. I will make my own mind up about that person and there is no rule that says we all have to like each other. I think the most that we can expect is that everyone is courteous to each other.

And while I'm ranting....... could you people please post your WoW nicks to your messages here because I was never a member of 3dgamers and have no bloody clue as to who some of you are when you post here.

Thank you

Moonwind
