F.E.A.R (First Encounter Assault Recon) is a close-quaters urban FPS that takes it to the next level. Using Doom3 smoothness and edge of your seat jump tactics such as sound, lighting and odd little things merging at the wrong moment to put your guard up you will be crawling through hallways on your hands and knees to make sure you don't rush into something. However, when you get into battle there will be a large number of highly trained AIs around that truly work with group tactics and understand yours. There is no escaping the "Unreal" speed you will have to play at when the moment comes and just when this is all getting too much for you there will be a "slow mo" mode to make best use of your time, but it won't last long as you have to spend earning it (like an average "sprint bar" type thing).
Add to this a series of different human enemies, the best of the best that they made better (I shouldn't know that film) including some super stealthy, quick and even invisible tactile units that only engage hand to hand. A wide range of arsenal including real world SWAT/SEAL sytle weapons as well as a rocket laucher and pulse gun type armourmant. You are in an FPS, but when the last man is standing in front of you you can finish him off in style with your own "Matrix Triple Kick" (obviously you can see your legs then) so there is a small amount of the buzzword "melee" in the game also. This means that at times throughout the game you will see your own body as well as refelction and shadow; so watch out for those shadows in a flashbang or round a corner.
You also have a very mysterious little girl wandering around, almost tranced or not human. Something is up and I can't figure it out, but that's your job inside the game. Plenty of blood and violence but not done in a way that is too over the top of off putting and I think it will only attract a larger audience. Add to that the most impressive new multiplayer gametype idea I have heard in a long time, pitting one player with slow motion capabilites against every other oponent on the map equally this is sure to be a winner. PC only this will be out in the "fall" and should absolutly rock out with it's c*** out! Someone has to buy me this game!
I have a 13 minute gameplay video if anyone would like to view a really good demonstation of the power of this game which is a perfect blend of the best FPS games out there and their attributes along with it's own style and formidable approach. Contact me and I will send it your way, but remember; it's big.
Ps. You should be able to play this on any system capable of playing Half-Life 2 and that's as near to System Requirements as I have right now.
