Sorry Ed, I don't have much time this morning, but I wanted to try and answer your question, from the PC Games Forum.
Remember kids...this is a SPOILER.....
The last Armory where you "Stock-up" before going through 2 big Double-doors to the outside......has 3 office chairs. You can scoot just 1, or all of them down to the double doors, and set it on top of the 1st door you go through, and that door will not close.
Now you can open the 2nd door, and retreat back inside, and even re-stock any armor or bullets needed......also the big baddies cannot get through the double-doors, so you can fight it out with them from inside.

Thanks for the tip Fzoul. I was just about to post because I'm at this very point now and finding it impossible to get through. I'll give it a try thanks.
BTW - I tried using the god mode cheat and it doesn't seem to work for me. I can get noclip and save game to work, but for some reason god mode doesn't work. According to what I've come across I launch the game in devmode, then once that is done there are 2 ways god mode should work. Hitting the backspace key, or going to the console and typing "\god_mode_count=1". I tried both and neither works. I can even get into fly mode (F4) so I know the devmode is working. For some reason god mode doesn't work. I think your tip might get me through this without cheating though so I'll give it a try.

No idea if it works or not Mr. N. but here are the God Mode instructions for Far Cry from GameFaqs - which is usually pretty reliable.
Cheers, Terry
Far Cry / God Mode
Open devmode.lua in the Far Cry directory and add the following code to the bottom:
function GodMode()
if _localplayer then
_localplayer.cnt.health = 99999;
_localplayer.cnt.armor = 99999;
Hud:AddMessage(''[CHEAT]: Give 99999 health and armor'');
System.LogToConsole(''\001CHEAT: Give 99999 health and armor'');
else
Hud:AddMessage(''[CHEAT]: No godmode today'');
end
end
Then, start the game with the -devmode switch and open the console with the ` key. Type in: #GodMode() and you'll have 99999 health and armor. The normal maximum is 255.
Saving or loading a game will reset the values, though.

Thanks Terry, that may be the missing key needed for that to work. I'm anxious to give Fzoul's tip a go tonight. I think I might just be able to get through the mission without cheating. It's impossible to get through that level without Fzoul's tip, so I think it's not a bug, but a puzzle of sorts to figure out a way to defeat all those Trigents.
Hopefully I'll be able to wrap up Far Cry this evening. If all still fails I'll give your cheat suggestion a try.

Thanks, Fzoul, that's pretty clever, and I'll remember it when I get back to the end on my second trip through the game.
What I discovered was that I could go through the first set of double doors and hide in the little cubbyhole on the right side. When the first Trigent shows up, I jump out and blast him with the shotgun about five times until he's down; and then I hide, again, until the rest of them show up. I then bounced all my fragmentation grenades off the opposite wall and killed them all. After the Trigents are down, you can snipe the rest of the baddies and make it across to the other side; and then the rest of the game is pretty straightforward and easy.
Trying to kill the Trigents with my rocket launcher from a distance didn't work very well for me, although that's what the walkthrough I read said to do. Using Fzoul's tip to get more rockets might help, though, and I'll definitely try his tip, next time. The grenade bouncing trick does work, and all you really have to do is find the right spot on the opposite wall to hit and listen to the Trigent's approach to time your throws.
By the way, in addition to being able to shoot the birds out of the sky, as I mentioned in another post, you can also shoot the fish and they will float to the surface. I don't know why these little things tickle me, but they do. Heh, heh. Someday, I suppose, we'll reach the point where the player can interact with everything on the screen.
Anyway, good luck, Tim; and let us know how you make out. Edward.

Well Edward you're a better man than I because I've been hiding in that spot you mention and always get blasted by Trigents. Whenever I tried jumping out at a Trigent I would get sniped to death by one of those jumping things from a great distance. 6 grenades simply isn't enough for me to get rid of the Trigents.
The rocket launcher is a bad tactic for Trigents. It typically took me 3 or 4 rockets to take down a Trigent and the maximum I could carry is 15 rockets. When there are as many as I come across at the end, rockets are quickly used up. Plus using a rocket launcher at point blank range is not good for your health.
Hey maybe I should try a rocket jump! :shades:

Hmmm! I was just playing the game on the default "medium" level. Are you playing on a more difficult level?
When you first open the outer doors and hide in the cubbyhole, you have time to lean left and snipe the jumping thing over on the left side before the first Trigent gets there. Then, like I said, I step left and hit the first Trigent with about five of six shotgun blasts to the head to kill him; and then I hide, again. Wait until all the others arrive and then bounce all six grenades off the opposite wall. Toss 'em low and just to the left of the jamb. Usually, there might still be one standing, but one or two shotgun blasts will take him down, quickly; since he's already wounded. You can then snipe the two jumping things over on the right side. There will probably be one more Trigent out in the field in front of you, but after the jumping things are gone; you can run forward, fire a rocket, and then retreat to take him out without getting hit. Its a piece of cake from there, on.
Although I'm halfway through the game, again; I was curious, so I pulled up that level to try Fzoul's tip. It took a long time to push that silly chair all the way to the double doors, but it did work for a while. After a while, though, the door knocked the chair out of the way and closed, anyway. Maybe a different placement, or more chairs, would work better. While I was there, though, I did my grenade bouncing thing, again, and I promise you; it does work. I remember it took me a few tries to get it right the first time, but the bouncing spot, and the timing seemed to make the difference. Start bouncing the grenades at them when you hear them just approaching the door. If you wait too long, they will walk down far enough to fire at you, but if you blast the first one in time, they seem to "pile up" before they get that far.
You can do it, Tim! Heh, heh. Don't let those big, stupid, stomping, bastards get the best of you. Let us know how you finally succeed, and good luck. Edward.

Thanks Edward. I plan on giving it a go tonight. I'll be sure to report my success when I'm done. :yes:

Yep I finished it up. I did make use of the chair. I killed the first one with a few grenades and a few rounds of the machine gun. Then ran back to stock up and by then the rest of the trigents were standing and waiting. I blasted them from a distance with the rocket launcher. Restocked and battled those hopping critters. The chair finally moved and couldn't go back anymore. They managed to wear me down to where I was without armor and around 80% health before I got em. I got the other 2 trigents behind the other far door with circle strafes around rocks. No problem with them. A few rocket launches at the last building up high took out the last defenses. It was all over very quickly. Thanks for the tips!

ALL RIGHT! Glad you made it. Now you can hang-glide on down to the beach where the rest of us "veterans" are having a fish-fry and a few brews. Heh, heh. If you feel like stopping by one of the earlier levels, you can shoot one of those pigs and bring it along. We'll cook it, too. See you, there. Edward.

For others who don't want to master the grenade bouncing trick or chair pushing marathon, I have another technique to share. I discovered this quite by accident but it proves effective against the large mech Trigens when fighting close quarters. I went past the first door and let it close behind me, and hid in the small space to the right. I then went out into the open to "bait" the bullies to come closer. I then quickly hid back in the corner and they lost sight of me but came right up to the corner of the door and stopped. By leaning around the corner, I was able to see and shoot the shoulder of the Trigen with a small caliber weapon at my leisure without him seeing me. As soon as he fell, the other large Mech Trigen stood in the first ones place and took the same punishment without retaliation. The other baddies in the level were handled in much the same way by a combination of laying prone and sniping the smallest piece of flesh that is available to you without giving away your location. This technique also worked with the large Mech Trigen at the other side of the level. I opened the door and ran around to the left side. He tried comeing straight at me but ended up "trapped" at the inside corner of his "garage".
Good luck when trying this technique. This Trigen behavior may have been a fluke or a glitch but it worked without hacking the game. It's not easy to keep from soiling your shorts when one of those things are that close to you and telling you he's coming for you but you can do it.

I used a combo of Fzoul, Edward, Fireman tactics to beat that area. The best way to move the chairs is to shoot at them. Pushing is too slow and there's plenty of ammo in that armory.
I never had Fireman's luck with the big boys not shooting at me. Sometimes they would behave like Fireman describes and sometimes they would blast away. I did learn not to use the rocket launcher against the big guys. A lot of time I could bring one down with well placed shots to the head before they fired off a rocket. However, if I fired a rocket at them they always immediately sent one back. Add the fact that it really doesn't do that much damage to them, I learned to keep my rockets for other things.
I thought the ending was kind of anti-climactic. Not up to the high standards of the rest of the game.

Hey, Im stuck on this part also. Im paying on challenging and its quite tough. I have managed to kill the 4 fatboys by going prone and using the machine gun by the door ways. If you can get a hit in the green thing on the chest, they will roar and not shoot back for a couple seconds. I then used cryvision and the sniper rifle to kill those jumping sniper guys without injury. Then I was assaulting the last two fatboys but I accidently OICW naded a rock right in front of me and died :(
