I'm still pathetically behind on both PC action games and RPGs, so am just not ready to fully dive into NWN yet. But at some point (I hope in the not so distant future), I plan to finally explore the rest of NWN Gold plus the newer HotU EP and all the best SP modules. But I also suspect that I will get (as usual) totally absorbed in the D&D universe and end-up yearning for more. That is when I will most likley find the time to finally get into the huge NWN MP online community and I was just wondering if there are any dedicated players, server hosts, DMs and even modders here.

Cheers, Terry

I got that game for Xmas, played for a little while, then got bored. RPGs are just not my cup of tea.

I really like NWN. I have HotU, but haven't had time to gt into it yet either. UT2k4 and farcry have taken over my life. :D: I must get back at it though, Hotu looked very cool from the little I have played of it. I haven't been playing much of anything lately though. weather just too nice to sit in front of a computer.

NWN addict and modder at your service!

I am still working on a module for NWN, hopefully something to rival the offical campaign. However life, and my worthless computer have gotten in the way. Good news is that I now have a massive amount of new tools to work with having bought both expansions. Hope to get back into the modding scene soon. Can't say enough good things about the Aurora toolset.

There are a TON of user made modules out there. Some are pretty good, some not so much.

The whole NWN experience is great, but I must warn you that the first expansion pack (Shadows of the Undertide) is a bit lacking compared to the offical OC and the second expansion. It can get frustrating at times, on several occasions I was temted to reah through the screen and chockee the snot out of my henchmen. Grrr.... *ahem*.....but there are enough bright spots to keep ya goin.

Hordes of the Underdark is absolutely fantastic. Getting your character to Epic levels is amazing fun, not to mention the cool new prestiege classes. Arcane Archer anyone? Weapon Master? Oh yeah! Did I mention 2 henchmen. Woot! Oh, and wait till you see the new "in-game" cut scenes.

temted.......reah......chockee?!?! :wtf:

Yes folks, he really is smarter than a tree stump. Just because he believes using 14 commas prevents a run-on sentence is not abuse of the English language, means nothing. Three mispellings in one sentence. Phah I say! Phah!

I didn't really like NWN. It was missing something...

Loved BG2 and BG though. Maybe it's because I never got into the NWN multiplayer scene (just freaked me out too much with all the funny names and people taking it so seriously).

Oh well, if all I do is play through the full official game / EPs and some of the best SP NWN modules, it will still be a great deal of fun and the healthy dose of D&D gaming I've been hankering for lately.

I also have the entire Morrowind GOTY Edition to explore as well as the rest of Arx Fatalis plus Gothic 2, KOTOR, Deus Ex: IW, Beyond Divinity and probably Sacred as well. Have all but decided to skip both Lionheart and Greyhawk unless I run into a real RPG dry spell and want to grab them from the bargain bin later on. But with The Roots, The Bard's Tale, KOTOR 2 and the new BioWare CRPG all in development as we speak, that seems unlikely any time soon.

Oh, and Captain, good luck with your NWN mod and keep us posted on progress.

Cheers, Terry

Terry, the user made sp modules are where its at. The official campain was lame because it was fetch quests all the way through. However, there are TONS of sp modules that totally make the game worthwhile. I recommend the penultima series. It is a humerous parody of CRPGs and it is very well put together with a good story line and interesting and funny characters.

I played NWN quite a lot, and never really bothered to play online. There are a lot of very good sp mods out there, more than enough to keep you occupied for a very long time. The official sp campaign definitelty isn't very impressive compared to many mods.
