I picked up this game yesterday and it's quite good so far. It shares a lot of ideas with the Diablo series. They are both overhead isometric view hack-and-slash action RPG's. They both involve killing seemingly unlimited numbers of monsters. Thankfully, the quests are much better this time around. It's also not played in a linear fashion. The graphics and sounds are also lots better than most similar games.

Sacred features five different playable classes of adventrers. So far I have tried out the Gladiator who uses swords and axes to kill his enemies. Though he seems to do best with his own specialty weapons. These are gloves with spikes or blades attached to them. There is also a Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Battle Mage, and Seraphim.

If you enjoyed Diablo 2 but want something a little more sophisticated, give Sacred a try. I believe Gamespot has a demo of it available.

YEp. Played it and just finished it last Friday!
Make sure you install the patches.

I played as the Dark Elf, and there was one combat art that, once I realized what it did, became my major tool in the game!

When I play it again, I think I'll try the Seraphim.

You'll definitely enjoy the game.

I've had it for a while and it's great, but I won't be going further in it until the 1.7 patch is out. This one should fix all the remaining quest bugs.

.

I'm so far behind with CRPGs at this point it's pathetic yet I'm still close to deciding to just go ahead and get Sacred. The reviews and player feedback have just been too good to overlook and after all, there's ALWAYS room for one more good role playing title in my PC game library. Even better when it gets properly patched soon after release.

Cheers, Terry

There have been 3 patches so far to my knowledge. The game is up tp v.1.66 now. I have not encountered any bug at all so far.

The Gladiator with a Combo of 4 of the special moves that do knee, elbow and shoulder hits is a very formidable weapon.

I like the Seraphim myself. Some of her combat skills and equipment look awesome.

She can kick some ass too :D:

I am currently playing a Dark Elf in SP, and a Battle Mage in a MP LAN game with a friend.

In the SP game, I have not encountered any bugs, with the exception of a side quest that disappeared.

In the MP game, I have encountered several bugs, and although some people get very uptight with any sort of bug, I have "adapted", tweaked, and don't a few searches on the Official Forum, in order to remedy the ones in my MP game.

Sacred is very addicting, and if they succeed in getting it at least as "bug-free" as Diablo II, then I can only see it's popularity growing more and more.

and just to be clear on another point for comparison,... I also bought Lionheart, and while I gave that game a good review early on, I eventually returned it because the bugs became too much of a problem even for someone as patient as I am.
Sacred is much better in every way, and alot more fun.
