For all you folks wondering the meaning of it all, you can read here. (http://www.hpl.lib.tx.us/youth/cinco_war.html)
Let's all go eat a bunch of habenero peppers. :fire: And quench with cerveza.

Can I have a marguerita instead?

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone but Ouch!

Raw habeneros are killer peppers. So no thanks, I've been burned (literally) by them badly in the past. But if you deseed and cook them, they are really quite mild, musky and delicious - especially when roasted.

There's lots of great Mexican and TexMex food here in Houston and a really large native Hispanic population. So we have some terrific parties, street events and a flood of good cervezas every year around this time.

Matter of fact there is a wonderful open air market just across the street that serves up some of the best (authentic) Mexican fare in town. Might just wander over there a little later and scarf up some hot, fresh, homemade soft tacos stuffed with succulent pork, chicken and beef frajitas... plus plenty of chargrilled sweet onions and extra spicy green salsa.

Mmmmm... is that stuff good!

Cheers, Terry
