Tonight, I grouped up with my wife and helped her collect pelts, meats, and other items for some crafting quests she had. We made a few trips back to Goldshire to sell what loot we kept collecting. Upon finishing her quests, we visited Stormwind to complete a couple I accepted last night. Here's a few screenies I took during tonight's session:

Felsteed (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/felsteed.jpg) - Felsteeds are mounts specific to Warlocks, and are given to them for free upon reaching level 40. They look so cool!

Stormwind Keep - Great Hall (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_great_hall.jpg) - This was the first major attraction I visited while in Stormwind tonight. The moment I stepped foot into this hall, I had to take a screenshot. Holy cow!

Stormwind Keep - Great Hall Exit (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_greathall_exit.jpg) - The same hall, facing the exit.

Stormwind Keep - Throne Room Dome (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_dome.jpg) - This the ceiling of the throne room. Amazing detail!

Stormwind Keep - Gallery (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_gallery.jpg) - The royal gallery. Simply incredible. Note that I'm actually sitting! I'm constantly amazed by what Quality of Life details Blizzard thought up when designing this game!

Stormwind Keep - Gallery (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_gallery_ceiling.jpg) - The architectural design in some of these rooms just astounded me.

Stormwind Keep - War Room (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_war_room.jpg) - "You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

Stormwind Keep - Throne Room (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_throne_room.jpg) - The royal family, with the boy King in the middle.

Stormwind Keep - Wizard Room (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/stormwind_keep_wizard_room.jpg) - This is the Wizard's room in the tower located in the middle of the Mage Square in Stormwind. I wonder where that portal leads to?

Goldshire - Lion's Den Inn (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/goldshire_lions_den_inn.jpg) - This is the Inn I'm currently staying at.

Goldshire - Lion's Den Inn (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/goldshire_lions_den_inn_main.jpg) - The main room in the Inn. Nice and cosey!

Goldshire - Lion's Den Inn (http://www.nyghtfall.com/wow/goldshire_lions_den_inn_bedding.jpg) - And this is the room I'm bunking in during my stay. Note that I'm actually sleeping! Again, it's those little "quality of life" details that really help enhance the immersiveness of a great MMORPG!

That's it for now; and I'm level 8!

I have to admit, the cartoonish graphics in this game made me hesitate even trying it, but they actually work to the game's benefit by forsaking realism in favor of making you feel like you're a part of a massive, persistant, living storybook; not to mention the fact that the low polygon count is very easy on my hardware.

That Felsteed is nice. I can't wait to get mine! (I'm a level 22 Warlock).

I've been playing on the Lightbringer server lately, since that's where my cousins play and it's nice to stay in touch with them since they live across the country.

Also, if you thought Stormwind was picture worthy, wait until you get to see some of the other sights in the game. There are some that are truly screen-worthy. And the cartoonish graphics really grow on you over time.

I'm currently in Ashenvale, the elven area. It's growing to be my favorite area of the game.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in a previous post, but I just thought I'd put my 2-cents in, on a suggestion...... if you are at all concerned about "repitition" or "grinding" quests,.. then I would not accepts any more "gather 10, 20, etc. tusks, meat, beaks,... whatever" quests than you have to.

The ones that ask you to "kill" a certain amount are ok in my view, because you can usually knock those out fairly quickly, but the gather quests ususally take longer, because the item you need to gather, only drops every 4-7 baddies that you kill.... it can get quite annoying. It's not as noticeable at the lower levels, but when you get into the "teens" on lvls, you may start to see that these type of quests are taking alot longer than before.

They really don't provide you with a fantastic XP reward, and are not really crucial to your toons progress. There are much more enjoyable and interesting quests to do, than to get burned-out on these gather-type ones.

The best quests are the story-arc ones, like the Defias Brotherhood line that gets started in the early teens in Westfall. (although, I've been through it so many times now that I don't want to do it again for a LONG time, lol). They generally have progressively better rewards and XP, and usually culminate with a very nice reward, like the blue items you get after the Defias line.

I have to mention I too love Ashenvale. A very cool area. I remember when I made my way to Stormwind, thinking about how "industrialized" it looked compared to the night elf areas (relatively speaking, of course).

Also, to add to Fzoul and Chylde, you hit an area in late teens to mid twenties where the quests don't seem as good and they seem to take longer ( or it did for me). Then the game kind of takes off again.

It's good to be a higher level.

Thanks for the quest advice. Much appreciated.

Right now we're finding we can't help but seek out any NPC we can find who has an explamation point over their head. One thing CoH has made me appreciate when leveling up a character - that I seldom took advantage of in DAoC - is missions and quests. They do so much to bring you that much further into the game and help you learn about the fictional history.

I do so love the fact that you can abandon quests though. I've never experienced that before, and it's an incredibly welcome feature.

Be sure to go to the Duskwood area and get the Legend of Stalvan quest. It's about 7 or 8 steps all together and is easily my favorite quest so far.

Yah, I just finished Stalvan not too long ago (I'm a human level 30 warlock) and that was not bad. But by far the weirdest quest I was on, was this one that came from a little boy in the Cathedral in Stormwind. This quest was massive (like 16 parts I think?) and eventually led me to finding out about who kidnapped the king :p ! The reward was shocking too, 1 gold and 30 silver, along with a killer ring that was really nice for my level!

But I was also just going to ask you guys what server you guys are playing on? Hopefully someone answers "Perenolde" and then I get a new friend! :D:

The guild is on Azjul Nerob. I am starting a Night Elf hunter on another server because it's still listed as a low population one. A friend of mine finally bought WoW after seeing me playing (the guy that I just built a PC for). So we started on the (so far) COMPLETELY lag-free server.

Eldre' Thalas is the server's name, by the way.
