Thought I'd add an update to a very nice FPS game that you may have seen links to in the past here at 3Dgamers.

Lore Invasion is an indie FPS game developed by Max Gaming Technologies and distributed by Gargage Games and was released March 18, 2005. The predecessor of DH: Lore Invasion is Dark Horizons Lore 1.12 and is a solid FPS game, but it pales to what you will see in the new release. Game play is fierce, nonstop, and the graphics are brilliant. It has a multiplayer internet-based mode and a single player mode where you battle against an AI and bots that will fight with and against you. The new lighting, graphics and sound cues that have been incorporated into Lore Invasion completely immerse you into the game as the pilot of a remotely operated mechanized vehicle. Maybe best of all is the team-based play that occurs within the two Factions (Federated States and Eastern Confederate) that are fighting to capture critical sectors that make up the new and shattered world of the lore universe. Demos are available for Windows, Macintosh AND Linux and can be downloaded from:

I've played both versions of this game and the new release just freakin' blew me away! The action here ranges from careful strategy during some of the Capture-the-Flag type maps to just furious metal-on-metal mayhem in the Team Deathmatchs; and all of it just more fun than the mind can comfortably conceive. I highly recommend this title anyone

So you used the Torque game engine to build it?

Zeddicus, you are indeed correct that Lore Invasion has been made with the Torque Game Engine, as such it is a 100% independently made and operated game. In fact it was a recent IGF finalist and was also one of the top 10 high lights at the recent Linux Desktop Summit :)

If you guys don't mind me telling you some extra features, since I am a developer of the game I will tell you a little bit more about it in regards to how it will appeal to gamers in this community...

Although reminiscent of the Mechwarrior series of games, you shouldn't confuse Lore Invasion with them, Lore Invasion has a lot more combat and a faster game type thus focusing you on the action and competitive play versus running in circles trying to strafe one another.

Its control scheme offers your usual FPS controls that everyone knows and loves, thus allowing you to quickly get into the game without having to memorize and zany new scheme. But it also offers some extensibility too should you want to dig out the old joystick or add some of the traditional sim aspects to it too. The choice is entirely yours.

I highly recommend that you guys take a look at the game, its fun, very entertaining and one of the best values you can find out there. So if you are looking for something new I would definately recommend it even if I didn't help make it. But if you are still in doubt, check out this video (WMV (http://www.darkhorizons-lore.com/downloads/vid/invasion_wmp.wmv), DivX (http://www.darkhorizons-lore.com/downloads/vid/invasion_divX.avi), QT (http://www.darkhorizons-lore.com/downloads/vid/invasion_QT.mov)) for a sample of what to expect.

Sounds good. For the record guys, please next time use http://www.3dgamers.com/feedback/ and contact the administrators directly about your game and not just register only to post on the forums. Doing so might get your game news displayed on the frontpage of the website and we dont have to consider the 1 time posts as spam :):

I just thought that I would pass along word that our community driven event "Faction Wars" will be continuing this Friday evening starting at 7pm EST.

Basicly what "Faction Wars" is, is a weekly event that is run online in Lore Invasion in which our faction commanders (who have been chosen from the community) choose a pair of Missions that the two factions will compete over this night. It's a great way to get into the game if you are new or perhaps don't know anyone yet and you can participate as either a Demo or Retail user. We invite anyone intersted to come out, show us what they are capable of, and have an entertaining evening with many like minded individuals.

Btw Zeddicus, thanks for the information. We will certainly try to use it as much as we can provided that we feel that we have anything newsworthy to say.
