Do you keep up with old friends when they or you move?
I'm sad to say that I don't. I've moved around my entire life from one location to another. I got so used to making new friends and I tended to forget my old ones. My father was in the military and we moved every two to three years. Making new friends was a habit but keeping up with old ones wasn't. It's sad I didn't learn from my parents who always kept up with old friends and always stayed in touch with them.

I try my best but some people just up and disappear without a trace - sometimes on purpose.
For example, I have a good friend / former boss who has several very greedy ex-wives (all with extremely aggressive New York divorce attorneys) and he has basically gone underground. I can not get in touch with him period and he is NOT specifically trying to avoid me. I actually still owe him a little money and have let it be known far and wide that it is his for the taking through any direct or indirect channel he chooses. Yet not a single old, mutual friend, business associate or client has been able to contact him in over five years now. We do however keep hearing odd reports from who-knows-who that he is still alive and well - somewhere, doing something.
On the other hand, another old friend from back east who I lost contact with over the span of time recently found me through a small mention on a professional affiliates web site. He sent the president of that company (who is also a personal friend of mine) an e-mail inquiring if I was the same T. Penrod that used to live in Annapolis, Maryland many years ago. He passed the message on to me, I replied and we have been keeping in touch by e-mail, phone and snailmail ever since.
So it works both ways I guess.
Cheers, Terry

No, not really. I had a few friends that moved stateward, but we don't comminucate anymore. Two reasons why 1) Lack of interest on both sides, 2) E-mail adresses and IM identities keep getting changed.

I've probably made more efforts to keep up with you folks as we've moved around than anybody else I've known. Edward.
