Argh! Don't mislead with these headlines Supa!

Final Fantasy is NOT coming to the XBox, instead MS has signed a deal with Sakaguchi, the CREATOR of the Final Fantasy franchise, to develop RPG's for the system. Sakaguchi left Square over two years ago and no longer has anything to do with the Final Fantasy franchise.

Sakaguchi, who left Square Enix last July to form his own independent studio, Mist Walker, had already revealed that his company is working on a Nintendo DS title. Now, Sakaguchi and his new enterprise will collaborate with Microsoft Game Studios in Japan to provide two as-of-yet untitled RPGs for the next-generation Xbox that's unofficially scheduled for release late this year.

ugh, get my hopes up like that...

Meh, these new RPG's should be good anyway, so the new XBox is still on my list :p:

Bagh X-box is evil. :)

Anyway, Sakaguchi along with Nobuo Uematsu (Who also left Square ;_;) are working on a game called Mist Walker together... apparently for X-Box. I feel so betrayed.

If they make it smaller... like, at least three times smaller... I may consider buying one. Though I'll have to repent for hours after.

Correction: Nobuo Uematsu is a hired conductor now; he isn't a part of Mist Walker (which is the company that Sakaguchi started after leaving Square, not the name of a new game), but he is contracted through them. Uematsu also still works for Square, just on a contract basis, though. He's doing the opening theme for FFXII, plus the music for FF7: Advent Children.

The game that's supposed to be coming to the Xbox Next through Mist Walker hasn't been named yet. In fact, I don't think they've nailed down what they're making yet.

Hmm, I could've swore the headline/story read differently when I first posted it - sorry about that!
