Could someone recommend a flight sim for the complete idiot?I've played crimson skies,secret weapons,star wraith & freespace 2(& still am) with great enjoyment & thought I was ready to try il 2,wich I wanted to play for a long time(even bought a saitek x52 for the purpose).Welllll... things are not going too good .Can't take off,can't land,but I do crash beautifully.It seems the game assume that you are familiar with the basics of flight sims.So in other words is there a flight sim for flight sims?

These are all combat flight sims, do you want a normal simulator? Or do you enjoy your guns? :p

First thing first:let's get off the ground,just the basics(but accurate). Stupid gravity sure screw things up.Please advise.

100% throttle, once your speed up on the ground, gently pull on the stick to lift yourself. Enjoy your flight =] Try not to take any sharp turns or do heavy manuvering with all kinds of spins and such. This will cause you to stall and/or loose controll of aircraft. =]

Depending on the aircraft configuration, give 10 to 15 degrees flaps during take off. Flaps provide additional lift at slower speeds. And raise gear as soon as you are off the ground.
