There is a new Sacred patch out. It's a little over 8mb.

Go to the home page to get it!

Cheers!

I really like Sacred. I'm having a lot more fun with it than I had with Diablo 2, but that's only my personal opinion, obviously. I tried out all the characters but didn't play the game much outside of the demo area, as according to the official forums, there are quite a few bugs so I'm waiting for more patches. As far as I know the 1.6 patch fixes the random quests and greatly improves performance and gameplay, but that's just what I read.

Ranger, what character(s) are you using? I can't decide. The only ones I don't like are the dark elf and the battlemage.

I haven't picked it up yet, though I'm curious. I played the demo, but I was only able to download the German version, so I didn't get very far. I never got around to getting the English demo (for some reason none of the downloads ever finished for me).

If it's comparable in fun to Diablo 2, I might have to get it.

Don't like the Dark Elf? What an insult! :p:

I've been playing the Dark Elf. I'm up to level 25. I've played for about 45 hours, and let me tell you, this is a pretty huge world to wonder around in. I haven't played any other character except fot the gladiator in the demo.

I've found a combat art that really helps quite a bit when fighting or trying to avoid fights. It's made getting thru easier. I just wish I'd known about it sooner! I won't say here what it is, but if you want any help, then that should be done in the hint forum

As far as the buggy quests, they weren't show stoppers.

I liked Diablo II, but this game has taken the genre to the next level!

I do like it when you get a partner. I've purposely not completed their quest just to keep them with me awhile longer. It would be nice to be able to hire a helper.

After awhile, money is not an issue. I have more than enough now, and keep getting more.

Get the new patch. It's supposed to fix the quests bug along with a few others!

cheers!

Still mulling over Sacred as it appears to be somewhere between Diablo and Divine Divinity - which was more akin to a solo SP-only version of Baldur's Gate than a pure action RPG and one of the nicest PC gaming surprises to come along since Tom Hall's splendid multi-genre / platform crossing hybrid Anachronox.

In case anyone here missed it, I highly recommend DD and there is a sequel coming out in around a week that looks excellent too. IMO, Larian Studios is a real rising CRPG star and we have not even begun to see what they are capable of.

Rich...could you list a few of the buggy quests by thier "Title" as they appear in the quest log?, and maybe a short sentence on the bug.

I am playing Sacred too, and really enjoying it, I think it offers alot more than Diablo did, and it's great to see developers taking that type of game to a new level.

Currently, I have a level 10 Dark Elf, and the first bug I ran up against, is the "Wilbur" quest.

I found him, but he keeps telling me to kill the Orc Shaman to set him free......I have killed all the Orcs in the camp, can't find any Shaman.

:mad2:

In reply to Fzoul: You could just check out the official forums (http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/index.php?s=), there's a lot of bugged quest reports there. I don't precisely know of any myself though.

In reply to Terry: DD is one of the best RPG's I've played. I'm very much looking forward to Beyond Divinity.

In reply to Cloudw4lker: I've heard the MP was rather unbalanced character-wise, but patch 1.6 makes it less buggy. I myself bought it for the SP.

Meh, I still haven't decided on a character :D:

Terry,
I played DD and enjoyed it very much! I'm enjoying Sacred more though. Download the demo and try it. I also played the demo of the DD sequel, Beyond Divinity, and liked Sacred better, but after reading a post on the game about play later in the game, I'll most likely pick it up when it comes out.

Cloud,
I don't know how the multiplayer is, but I've read some posts and they have been favorable.

Fzoul,
I had no problem with the 'Wilbur' quest. There is a Shaman. On the official forums, they do say that the foes can wonder off, and the Shaman may not be in the camp anymore. Just go around the area and kill everything. There's one quest that i did complete, but does not show it being so. I suspect I missed one of the raiders when they came into the area.

cheers!

That's good to hear from a fellow CRPG fan Rich. Perhaps Sacred belongs near the top of my list too.

I haven't played DD (Shame on me, it's even made by fellow Belgians ), though I really liked the demo. I've also tried the demo of Sacred and Beyond Divinity, and of those 3 demos I liked Sacred best. I liked the DD demo a lot too, but the BD demo really dissapointed me for some reason. The German version of BD has recently been released, and the first few reviews that popped up weren't too positive either, unfortunately. :(

OTOH, Sacred has been getting great reviews, often with over 80% and even 90% scores. So that's definitely a gem worth getting, and I'm very tempted to pick it up myself. I'll just have to scrape together some cash.

I'm curious? How Diablo-like is it? I like a good role-playing game but I prefer a Baldur's Gate type game. I did not care for Diablo and never bothered to buy Diablo 2.

Download and try the demo. It has a little of both. The one thing that is really different is you can ride a horse in the game!
