Display frame rate in Far Cry?

Anyone know how to do this? I tried searching the internet and found a few suggestions to type /r_displayinfo 1 in the console. But when I hit the ~ key and type this, nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks.

FRAPS works fine for me. Why dont you download it and use it.
