Pirates!

Yeah, I know.... I'm actually posting about a different game than that other one I seem so pre-occupied with... but anyway.

I picked this one up with some leftover xmas money, and I'm glad I did. I remember playing the original for a very long time when it came out way back in the late 80s.

I'm happy to report that this is basically the same game, with a few major additions, and with very good graphics. The addictive core gameplay is still in tact, which is a vast relief. :):

I've only played for a few hours so far, but it was a blast, sailing around the Caribbean, pillaging, looting, searching for treasure, wooing the governor's daughter, recruiting, pillaging some more.... sacking the odd town...

heh, I could go on, but I'll just leave it at: if you liked the original Pirates!, you're going to LOVE this remake.

I've never played the original, but I've had a lot of fun with the game during the holidays. It's very easy to get into and very addictive. Metal Gear Solid 3 (great game!) is taking most of my gaming time right now, but I plan to go back to playing Pirates! when I'm through with it.

EDIT: Sloops of War and Royal Sloops are the best ships evar!
