Wish is cancelled..

Could have been the best MMORPG to be released since Ultima Online [1997].

Any word on why it was cancelled other than their official notice? What happened between their last update 3 days earlier where they basically said all is good to now.

I was following this one a little bit if only for the 10,000 simultaneous players with no zones. Kind of disappointing but I am still really curious what happened in those 3 days that led to the outright cancellation of the game.

Wow, weird, just got done looking at a huge 2 page ad in a mag for it.

Popularity of Wow/EQ2/SWG/COH/AC2/FFX/AO scare them off?

The game did have some interesting qualities going for it though. Kinda sucks because I was looking forward to see how the game does =[

Having played both I can say that you are 100% mistaken. It was not too similar to WoW in any way. And I thought it was much more fun... although more 'advanced'/'difficult to get started in'.

WoW has a more arcade-approach to the MMORPG genre, quickly get in and have fun.. Wish was more like AC/UO - where you did'nt get much handholding, but the game grew on you and huge possibilities appeared after playing a while.

WoW never really grows any larger after you've played for a few levels.. IT is still a great game though :-) [I'm playing it every day now that Wish is dead :-( )

There is still Matrix Online. They have a much different approach on combat (even I havent fully figured it out yet). I just hope they fix up the bugs and add bunch of new content =]

Hi guys, sorry for the newbish question. But are any of you gents so kind enough to tell me what Wish is all about? I've been out of the MMORPG scene for quite some time now. The last game I played was Lineage 2! any thoughts on this game?

Wish is dead, thats all there is to it now... a dream that was shattered... just like Horizons was destroyed.. Although Wish never made it to retail.
