Id like to set up a car system with a touch screen monitor.

Here are directions of how to set up the USB port for XBox:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/usb-port.php

k easy...

Here's the mointor im looking at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32826&item=5741842597&rd=1

it comes with a RC to USB cable. but then I have a reciever in my car, id like to play the audio thru it to get my 50x4 channel wattage to car speakers.

Can I run USB Video to screen and then get one of those HD Media wires and only hook up sound to the reciever? I cant just run HD video to the screen because touch screen would not work right? has to be USB to be a input and a output at the same time. The other port is just a output. then with the linix software talked about on the USB instalment page that will run the touch screen part.

This all sound correct / possible? if not any idea's? I know just enough to talk about the subject so go easy with the lingo =D im new to the Xbox system.

(also my Box will be already modded if that matters)

I guess you can post comments here or email me at nanoluxx@hotmail.com

thanks,

I guess I'm missing what exactly you're looking to do here. I think some of your terms are a little off, but let's see;

You're wanting to turn your XBOX into an in car computer entertainment system.
To do so you're going to mod and add a USB port to the xbox, then connect a touch screen display to the xbox via USB. You're also wanting to use the touchscreen as the display device for the XBOX?

Well, first off video over USB 1.1 will only work with non-High Definition video, and even some DVDs will push the limits of USB with the variable bit rate(s). USB 1.1 is ~11Mbps and that's not including overhead you naturally lose. Plus you will lose video quality compare to VGA when running the Linux. But running over VGA you lose the USB (touch screen) part of it. Unless you want to do some soldering and pulling a separate USB connection off the monitor. ;)

I think you'd be better off getting a straight in dash VGA monitor and then a separate USB touch pad / screen device to control navigation. I'm pretty sure there are some XBOX to vga adapters out there, and then you'd just have to run the RCA audio out of the xbox connector to the aux in your stereo system.

ok, first post :)

the usb connection on the xenarc touchscreen is only for the touchpart of the screen (just as it would be for a seperate touchpad), NOT video....for that you have to use the composite or VGA input
