Dell moved product support for business accounts from India back to the U.S. It seems some customers were not happy with the prior arrangement.

I always thought outsourcing jobs overseas was a bad idea. Glad one company realized it.

Well it's about time.

Foreign tech support by phone sucks.

Yes, it is unnecessarily time consuming, frustrating and VERY ineffective. It makes paying customers mad as hell and will backfire on any company hoping to save a few bucks on crucial tech support manpower costs. It always was a stupid, counter-productive idea, and it needs to die a quick death as soon as possible.

In November Dell took the rare step of rerouting its large- and medium-business support work out of India and back to Austin. Support for small-business and consumer accounts remains in India.

So just corporate account support is back in the U.S. now? Hmmm...
