Is this a problem on their end? I've e-mailed tech support. I don't know if I want to call this late. But I'd love to play it.

Thanks for the help.

Dan

In the meantime, I just wait, and resubmit. :doa:

Hey man. I just got the game today also and I'm having the exact same problem. Been trying again and again all stinking night. Extremely frustrated. The good news is I guess it's a problem on their end since numerous people seem to be unable to access the account DB...http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-tech-support&t=65402&p=1&tmp=1#post65402

It's due to the login/server problems of today. Like Chylde, I'm taking this as a sign and going to bed. I've played way too much lately (30-35 hours from Sat-Tues).

Might have to give it a try tomorrow.

At least I know it's not on my end. Thanks. I can try again tomorrow.

I'm taking this very well, all things considered. I think I'll just watch the beginning a few 100 more times. It's really cool. (Very well, all things considered. Very well, indeed.)

Thanks for replying!

An announcement actually came on in-game that was counting down the minutes to when the servers would be going offline for more work that has to be done to them.

It's likely they're still working on them. Like Raf said, this was just a very bad day for WoW, which is why I'd also given up on playing at all this evening. Maybe tomorrow.

It's working now.

I managed to create an account! Downloading the patch now.

These 3 hour plus game installations really make the game anticipation that much more intense. Half-Life 2 took about this long to install and authenticate (but it was worth all of it.)

I did get the last one at Gamestop, so I'm glad at least that I've gotten this far! Judging by the problems I've read about, I've been very lucky tonight compared to others.

Yeah that stunk last night, hopefully I'll be on tonight for some time since tomorrow is a holiday and I'm snowed in here...and the servers don't go down again.

Yeah, I'll be on again tonight, but probably won't be at all on Friday tho, being Christmas Eve and all. I will likely be online Christmas Day, but later in the evening. :):

And I have next week off, so I'll have to do some power-levelling to get back my lead on Cap'n! Nah, I'm just kidding. It's actually good people are catching up to me, so we can group on quests. I have a lot of elite quests I'll definitely be needing some help with.

And Dan, make sure you let us know when you're all setup!

I hope to play some time today. I don't know yet what class I'm going to play. The world is just gorgeous, though. I created a human paladin last night, just to explore. The 20 minutes I played was very fun and the gameplay was easy to understand.
