A few screenshots and vidoes have been making rounds though the net announcing the leak of a build that is about two years old. What is so special about this release? This build carries the DCE, or Desktop Composition Engine, it is the DirectX, video-accelerated graphics engine in Longhorn. It will be a part of the Aero User Interface.

looks pretty, but I guess more memory will be taken from our games.

Blah did you see that? Explorer was taking 40mb of memory and 9% of his processor, and he didnt even have anything running! My explorer takes about 13mb and 0-1% of my processor normally. I will end up turning all that fancy crap off anyway, so I hope they improved the core.
