View Full Version : WoW: my initial thoughts

I caved... I went and got WoW yesterday.... and I LOVE it! hehehehe!

I'm still enjoying EQ2, but WoW is also quite amazing. The graphical style is definitely one of the most cool features of the game. The interface is very intuitive, with everything you'd ever need available through a command bar at the bottom of the screen. One (minor) disappointment is that you are unable to move windows around, unless I'm missing something. For those of you who played the Warcraft games, the interface style will be very familiar, right down to background colors and fonts. Another nice touch is the fact that quest giving NPCs have an exclamation mark above their heads, letting you know who you can talk to if you need something to do.

So far, I've created a Night Elf hunter, which seems to be a very versatile race/class combination. Hunters use a bow (or gun, if you're a dwarf) to do great damage from afar. In fact, by the time most mobs got close to me, they were at less then 1/4 health and were very easy to finish off with my hunting knife. I took my hunter to level 6 in about four hours last night, and had just made it to the next town after the starting town. The hunter seems to be a very good solo class, and there's the potential to tame wild beasts to use as companions in later levels, though I haven't had that opportunity yet. I think you do by about level 8, because I saw a level 8 guy running around with a tiger-like pet running along with him.

Grouping was very easy, three of us joined up to finish off a quest involving a ton of spiders that would have been difficult going solo. When that was done, we all went on our merry ways, with a bunch of loot, XP and a complete quest. :):

The other toon I made was a Human paladin, but I only took her to level 2 before it was time to go to bed (ugh, 1:00 a.m.; so I’m beat today!). The fighting style is different, and I could see some other differences right away. The Night Elf town was in a forest, very quiet and peaceful, a pleasure to be in, and not many other players about. The starting human area, by comparison, was very busy. And there were a TON of paladins running around. While I enjoyed the class, and I never really ran out of quest mobs to kill, it still seemed to be a lot more "bustling" than the relatively quiet forest setting I was in previously. If I were a class IRL, I think I'd be a ranger/druid type… I like the solitude!

One thing Kasavin nailed in his review is how Blizzard managed to compile the good features of other MMOGs to get the "best of everything" into this one. Normally I think Kasavin's a pompous ass (and still do, because of his condescending writing style), but I have to admit he hit the mark on a lot of his comments about this game, from what I can see so far.

Something I miss is the talking NPCs of Everquest. It's not a huge adjustment because EQ2 is the first MMOG I've played with talking NPCs, but it's cool in that game. As it is, the NPCs in WoW have a few spoken lines, usually activated when you first initiate a conversation or trade transaction. Your own character will provide verbal feedback, though. For example, when you try to activate a spell or skill that isn't recharged, they'll tell you that it's not ready to use.

Anyway, just some rambling thoughts based on about 5-6 hours of play last night. I guess I’m kind of still looking for the MMOG I want to devote my time and money too, which is why I picked this one up, despite getting EQ2 a few weeks ago. I gave up on CoH because it started to become a grind, and in all honesty, I missed the crafting and loot/cash associated with other MMOGs such as Asheron's Call (which I played for years). Those things are both covered with WoW and EQ2, so it's just a matter of figuring out which is better for soloing, and which is more addicting on a personal level. I'll be sure to let you know when I find out!

I'm curious.... one feature I keep reading about with this game is the ability to be online and in-game within mere seconds. How, exactly, is that done?

:wtf:

Not sure yet... I only logged on once last night, but it took awhile because of the first update being downloaded (that's right, I didn't get kicked or crash once in over 5 hours of play time, and I only had server lag once the entire time).

I'll pay attention when I log in tonight, and will let you know.

Well, I checked the log in time, here's what I did to time it:

I clicked my shortcut, entered my username and pword, it authenticated, I clicked on the character I wanted to play, and I was in. All told, from app launch to being in game, it took about 28 seconds. I can live with that, but I don't know if I would call it "mere" seconds. Of course, I'm also on a crappy DSL line, so it could be attainable in less time with a better connection.

No pun intended but I'm looking for opinions from people who played the game for about 100 hours now =]

All MMORPG's have that "awesome" beggining since things are all new to you. Hell, even ShadowBane was fun for the first 2-3 weeks that I played untill it all went down the hill and realization came out how crappy the design really was.

I played two WoW betas and one EQ2 beta and EQ2 is what I stayed with. I even debated with myself because I didnt want to play 2 MMORPG's. So I made a little list of things I liked in each and what I didnt like. Made an imaginary scale and whichever side tipped the most, it would pick the game for me =]

That's all fine and good, but why would you post about your EQ2 review in a World of Warcraft thread. I don't give a damn what game you play, or anyone else plays for that matter. You want to talk about EQ2 or talk about writing a review, post in an EQ2 thread or start a new one. There is no need to deliberately post an off-topic post, with no apparent reason other than to derail the thread. You, of all people should no better than that.

Here's a little reminder for you:

We only ask that if you wish to post something that does not directly follow the discussion of the thread, that you start a new topic of your own.

Actually I said I was gonna post my review, but I never said it was gonna be in THIS thread. You said that.

And I didnt intend on making things wrong here, it's just a repetive habbit from someone who played almost every MMORPG to date =]

I'm looking forward to more of your impressions but what I really WANT is someone who has played at least 100 hours into it and is in high level already. High level content is what interests me more then anything since this is where you'll be spending most your time. Developers like to throw all their best ideas right in the beggining to get that big "draw" of crowd and neglect the end-game content.

Sheesh, let me edit out my original post before you hang me :p:

Well, I played through some of the opening quests after screwing around with my bastard router opening ports and such.

After an hour or so of configuring I finally got it to work.

So far it's what I had expected, which is a good thing. I love the artistic style, but I can definitely see how it can differ by taste. I'm a little overwhelmed with everything so far, but the game does a good job of "hand-holding" noobs like me. I'm definitely having fun so far, but I'll have to put in some real playtime to see if I can stick with this MMO thing long-term (my record is 1 1/2 months of Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2, and this is loads better so far) and to post some real impressions.

Stupid me, I took the first server that was available to me so I didn't end up on the same as Chylde. No matter, my first character is a Dwarven Hunter anyway. For the record, I'm on Azjol-Nerub in the Mountain time zone.

Oh yeah, my limited experience with the community so far has been incredibly positive, for the most part people are extremely friendly and helpful (again, with limited exposure to the game though).

Well, I'm already looking forward to tomorrows adventure.

Oh yeah, and Nyghtfall, after I got everything set up properly it took me a total of 16 seconds from launching the game to actively playing. Don't know if that's good or not.

Ya Bruenor, don't be too influenced by how "friendly" everyone is right now..... that's something that happens with MMO games alot, ... it's only after a few months that you start seeing the true colors of all the folks who have finally got the swing of things, and don't feel like being nice anymore.

Glad you guys are having a good time with it, that's the most important thing.

Yah, I'm having fun with it so far. Who knows how long that will last, all I know right now is I can't wait until tonight to get back at it after my daughter is in bed. Heh, the wife is working tonight too, so I won't even be given the guilt trip of not wanting to play something else.

Regardless, I'm glad I took the plunge, if anything just to experience the MMOG thing. Kind of makes me regret never installing Star Wars Galaxies that I have... Nah

Actually, in my experience, you can usually find someone to help you out. When I was in AC, people were always willing to help out or offer advice if you asked. In EQ it was the same. I think as long as you're polite, you can always find help. I know I tend to ignore people who are rude or use leet/dude speak in MMOGs, but if someone is nice about it, I have no problem helping if I know the answer.

And Bruenor, I cold wind up on the same server as you. I just found out a couple of friends of mine IRL are playing, and they're on that server. I used to play AC with those guys, so I may end up changing so I can group with them. Plus we'll have a small built in guild. :p:

If I do make the change, it'll be very soon, and I'll be sure to let you know if/when it happens. :):

bah I'm actually the most friendly person in any MMORPG (except in ShadowBane where I was playing as a Thief class and was stealin' stuff).

Friendliness starts to wear out when everyone gets "twinked" but there is always someone who can help ya. If someone calls ya a n00b just /ignore <playername> or send a /petition to report them.

And about the EQ on PS2... I'm suprised you lasted that long lol. :p:

I was just kidding around with you. If I ever play a MMOG that your on, you'd be the first person I look up (seriously).

About EQ on the PS2, well surprisingly enough the community was quite good so I was motivated a little by that. I think that because it was the first MMOG on a console it was new to almost everyone so there wasn't any pre-built expectations from most of the community like there is in the MMOG PC community. Basically, everyone was a newb to the entire genre so you never were made to feel like a newb.

Plus I forgot to cancel and I was billed for the first month so I felt obligated to play. Two major problems with that game though, way too frustrating communicating with a controller and if I were going to sit 1 foot away from my TV using a USB keyboard I may as well play on my PC and the fact that I quickly got to the "you must group or die" portion of the game and I like playing solo more often than not, or at least I don't being "forced" into anything.

Yeah that won't cut the mustard for new games - WoW might be playable, but it'd look ugly of course for the most part.

I know the guy who owns this company and his guys have put together some sweet bare bones sets for me at almost cost:

Custom Systems ADOK (http://www.advanceddesignky.com/systems/viewsystem.cfm?recordid=39)

I just call them and tell them what I'm looking to do gaming wise. I would highly recommend them for custom PC's, barebones systems and audio PC systems.

Played a bit more and I am liking this game more and more. I keep finding myself saying "just one more quest and then I'll stop, just one more, ....".

One thing I noticed and like so far is that there are a lot of people on who have never played an MMOG before. I know some people are turned off by that, but for me its great. This has got me out of my shell in a way, I have become more social than I think I would have otherwise where I was the only noob in a field of experienced players. This has made the grouping and social aspect of the game a very pleasant surprise so far, not that I am abandoning my solo nature or anything like that.

Well, the wife is making me stop now, but I'll be back on tonight.

To answer your previous question from the other thread, Bruenor:

I noticed you were in-game last night Chylde, Level 15 hunter right? Was going to say hi, but I forgot about you while I was completing a few quests, heh.

First time I felt like playing last night in 3 days (damn ear infection ) but what they said was true, if you leave for a few days and come back you do get a boost of stats for a short period of time and a boost in XP received too. Allowed me to boost a couple of levels a lot quicker than I thought.

Yeah, I made it to lev 16 before logging off, tho. I gained 1.5 levs last night, and completed a ton of quests, so it was a very good session. I didn't see you come on, tho. I could've been either fighting, or helping a newbie. There was this elf druid following me around asking all kinds of questions, it was kind of funny, but I answered what I could. Finally, he started asking me about druid skills and stuff, so I had to send him off to seek out another druid player. I haven't played that class yet, and couldn't answer him anymore, lol.

Thanks, I could probably use some decent leather armor. Might be able to save some money for new skills from trainers and such a lot faster that way. Umm, I could always make you some kick ass drumsticks  . OK, it's some boar meat thing, but I'm having fun cooking up a lot of things (in case you can't tell, I have cooking as a profession).

I don't know if I'll be on tonight or not, I still have my ear infection which is bothering the hell out of me right now. I only played last night because my wife was playing Battle for Middle-Earth and watching gave me an itch to play.

If I'm on, I'll likely be on around 9:30 or so our time. I'll probably be cleaning up some random quests in my current location (I'm kind of in the wilderness right now, can't remember my exact location at this moment - near some small village with a bunch of beer making and beer drinking Dwarves, my kind of place ) then I'll hopefully be heading off to Ironforge where all the decent professions are and learn something new.

I don't know if you knew this Bruenor, but cooking is a free skill that doesn't count toward your limit of two skills. You can take cooking, fishing, and first aid for free, PLUS your two gathering/production skills.

So in my case: I have cooking, fishing, first aid, skinning and leatherworking. I could probably be a much higher overall level, but I've also spent a lot of time just fishing, with my big cat standing there beside me, like he's waiting for his share of dinner or something.

The skills are fun and add an interesting dimension to this game. It helps take away from the grind of levelling, and I find myself working on my skills so I can make better and better stuff.

My hunter's named Celyse. Bruenor and I connected briefly tonight, but the poor dude had to get up early so we had to wait on the adventuring. Add me to your friends list, I'm sure we'll hook up eventually. One other thing: STAY in Teledrassil until you hit 10. You HAVE to do your beast taming quest in night elf territory, so it'd be a bugger to have to get back there again later (as I found out, the hard way).

Once you've done that, I can take you down to Stormwind with me. I can make the trip by boats and griffons now, but I made the run on my own a couple of times, so it'll be relatively easy to get you down there.

Someone's power-leveling...

I'm actually not really doing that, for a change. I just don't feel like I have to. I've had the game for a week now, and Celyse will be reaching level 17 tonight. Mind you, I have played a lot, only I spent a lot of time on fishing and leatherworking. My next skill to focus on will be cooking, now that I've got fishing maxed out! :cheer:

My IRL friends aren't doing too bad. One is at 18 with his N.Elf rogue, and the other is at 23 with his human warlock, but he has a lot more play time than we do.

Open your skills/spells window, and click on the beast mastery tab. There should be some skills there, like call pet, dismiss pet, train pet, feed pet, etc. You have to have the feed pet skill to do that. Once you have it, you can pick up some food from your inventory, and click it on your pet to feed it.

yeah, you do. There's a trainer in Darnassus you have to visit. Check your quest log, the beast tamer trainer should have told you about the new guy you need to see.

that hunter sure has some good soloing in him. At lvl 9 when I didnt have a pet yet, I was soloing my way inside that den to find the relics LOL it was tough and a few gambles but I survived. Only thing that killed me was that guy that transforms into a bear all the way on the bottom =P

I have never played an online RPG past the free trial or open beta... but this one is looking good.

I asked for it for X-Mas, and there is a good chance I am getting it. If I don't then I will pick it up after my B-Day midway through January.

I have been looking around and trying to plot out my character. I am sure I want to be a Night Elf, but not positive on the class (either Hunter or Druid).

Anyone mess with the Druid yet? From your opinions, the Hunter sounds good.

Yeah, I was on last night Chylde, but only on long enough to level up and get my pet. Well, I'm still doing the "pet quests" right now. Hopefully my Ice Claw Bear will be able to help me out with those damn Frostmane Troll Headhunters (killed me again last night  )

I'll be on throughout the weekend.

I have to go to Loch Modan, near Ironforge, so I can find some lev 17-18 pets. They have Bite and Claw skills I need to learn so I can teach them to my main pet. So I'll be near you most of the time this weekend. If I'm on, send me a tell and I'll provide some support so you can deal with those pesky trolls.

Try Ironforge for the guns, Zedd. I can't recall having seen anyone near Stormwind where you can train them. If you need a hand getting to any of these places, let me know with a tell. I'll be on tonight, but it won't be until (at the earliest) around 10-10:30 MST.

I managed to hit my first gold piece tonight, but I promptly spent it on a bunch of leatherworking skills and materials.... sigh. Oh well, I have some very good armor now, and my character is coming along quite well, so all's good. :):

And I'm always glad to help, Bruenor. Like I told you in game, I made a ton of XP from harvesting the leather for that armor, so it's all good. As your toon gets older, I'll be able to provide better armor to you.

Chylde Roland
December 11th, 2004, 06:39 pm
Keep at it there, Zedd. It took me about a half dozen tries to tame one of those. I let it go eventually, but you CAN get one. My main pet is a nightsaber cat named Stripe. I went questin gin Loch Modan last night with one of my IRL buddies because I needed to tame a certain spider and a certain bear to leanr their abilities. We managed that, and I taught those new abilities to Stripe. He kicks some serious arse now!

And Cap'n, don't hesitate to look me up if you have any questions or need some armor. :):

I should be on a bit later. Have a few things to do, but I'll definitely be playing later tonight.

Rafal Dudek

Bruenor
December 11th, 2004, 06:47 pm
Oh and Cap'n, join the Azjol-Nerub server you'll find Zedd, Chylde and myself there.

Heh, were all hunters too. Those two are Night Elves and I'm a Dwarf.

My name is Mandorak, my main pet right now is an Ice Claw bear named Cuddles (inspired by the constant cuddling it was doing with Chylde's toons' leg  )

Zedd's name is Ajulia and Chylde's name is Celyse (sp?). Add us to your friends list, all of us will help you out if you need. Plus, I'm still not too far from the dwarf starting point so if you need someone to group with to help you out just look me up.

Chylde Roland
December 11th, 2004, 07:22 pm
lol, Bruenor! What can I say? Animals just love night elves! Yep, my toon is named Celyse. I'm mostly based in and around Stormwind now, which is an easy skip to Ironforge if you chose to be a dwarf hunter. I've actually read on the WoW community site that a group of hunters with their pets is a pretty effective team.

Zedd, yes you can do this. Depending on their class (i.e, bear, cat, bird, etc.), pets come with with different abilities. The main four are growl, bite, claw and cower. And they all have ranks, just like your toon's skills have ranks. Growl you can learn from pet trainers, but the others you need to tame beasts with the ability naturally.

So I wanted to teach rank 3 of bite and rank 3 of claw to Stripe, so I caught creatures with those abilities. Then, you have a battle with a mob, and manually activate the ability from your pet's menu. If it hits, you learn the ability and then you can teach it to your main pet. The catch is your main pet has to be stabled, it cannot be with you when you are trying to tame other beasts.

Hope that helps!

I've been playing on the Terenas server cause I thought that's where you guys were playing. Can I switch servers and still continue the quests I'm envolved in, or do I have to start from scratch?

Anyway, what I've played has been a blast. The game runs very well on my PC! Can't believe how wonderful everything looks. Now if my wireless network would stop dropping off, I'd be fine.

I'm playing as a dwarven hunter named Runst, and I'm at level 3. I gotta get off for a bit, but I'll definetly be back on later tonight.

See ya's soon.

I played last night untill about 3am and had a blast. I'm still only at level 5, but hey it's a start. My alter ego Grunst is a troll's worst nightmare.

I just finished scraping my wireless network and hardlined everything, so I shouldn't drop out anymore. WooHoo!

BTW, for anyone with a lower-end system like mine, you can easily play WoW. I left all the video options at the default level (a mixture of high and low settings) and it runs smooth as silk and looks great. bah, the most important thing is that I got my gun skill =P

It's really wierd because the rough arrows or bullets you buy from store only add 1.5dps, but the bullets I make add 2.5dps. Cant wait till I start making heavy shots...

I'm still in need of a better gun. The damage is somewhat lower then my bow, but on the bright side... its alot quicker hehe. If I had a bullet bag, it be even quicker =P

I have a question....

In reading the "contents" of the WoW gamebox, it mentions a "free 10-day guest pass".....

How is this done? Wouldn't the person who uses the guest-pass have to have the game, in order to install it?

Just curious...

Fzoul

Chylde Roland
December 12th, 2004, 03:47 pm
AFAIK, the pass comes only with the Collector's Edition box. I think you use the person's CDs to install the game, then use their guest pass code to enter the game. If you decided to upgrade to a full account, you then have to buy the game yourself, and input your unique CD key to continue beyond the trial period.

I think that's how it works. a friend of mine started the game this way, so I'll send him an email and will let you know for sure when I hear back from him.

EDIT: actually, I think this thread on the WoW community site will answer your questions: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=47249&tmp=1#post47249

Only got to play for a hour tonight due to other commitments and late enough that no one else was on. That's OK though, levelled up, finished a few quests, made some armor, met some new people, etc. All in all a good 1 hour of gameplay.

Well, my wife has heard enough too. She has heard me talk endlessly about this game and read through a majority of the posts here. She'll likely be picking the game up next Friday too.

A request of any of the Night Elves here. If you can swing it, can you maybe help her get starting out, similar to what I did with Cap'n? You know, some good items to get her going and some hints.

I tried to convince her to be a female Dwarf (I've never seen one) but she says their too short, too hairy and they smell funny.

Cap'n
December 13th, 2004, 08:03 am
LOL, yes us drawf type people do have a funny odor about us. But let us not forget that all that hair keeps us warm and cozy.

No Bruenor, I haven't killed any bunnies yet for skin. I have been skinning the crap out of wolves, boars and bears though. It's amazing how much leather you can amass in such a short amount of time.

I'm at level 8 now, trying to finish out a few quests. One of them is of importance to me since the prize is a nice new axe. But once that's done I'm going to do some power leveling. I'm doing the quests too quickly and paying the price for it. Some areas the quests lead me to have some higher level beasts. It's not bad if I can get the drop on them from range, but it's when I get ambushed or surprised that it really hurts.

I'm really enjoying the hunter class. To me the hunter is what I've always thought the ranger class in other RPG's should be. I've always pictured a ranger as being self-sufficent, which is exactly what the hunter is. For example, the very helpful ranged skill shots that add status effects. From a safe distance I can use the "target" skill to zero in on my target which adds bonus damage. Then I can hit it with a stunning shot which slows the creature. Follow that up with a "serpent sting" that adds poision over time. Finally I hit 'em with an arcane shot that does good damage. By the time the creature reaches me I've taken half or more of it's energy. Defensevely in close combat I use the "monkey" skill to dodge, and survival skills to add melee damage. Once I'm able to have a pet, it should be even easier.

I also love the crafting skills too. It's real nice to walk around in leather amror that you made yourself. It's extremely cheap to make (the leather is free by skinning and the thread is cheap) and works wonderfully. I just wish I could make holding bags.

For those that are about to start don't hesitate to look us up. I was helped alot by Bruenor, Zedd and Chylde when I first started and would love to return the favor. It's fun to help people out. Yesterday I was running around the Grizzled Den just skinning away and making armor kits for people. It increased my skills and help them out as well.

Fzoul, you should really get off the fence and jump in. I was weary about the $15 a month too but my wife pointed out that if I enjoy the game as much as I have it turns out to be a bargin. Think about it, instead of buying a new game every month at about $50, I can continue to play a great game for only $15. As much polish as Blizzard has put on WoW, I think it's worht it.

And Glen if you get it and become a hunter, look me up. I'll help out if I can.

Heh, I did the same thing yesterday. Saw a solo Dwarf Paladin in the wilds of Loch Modan getting gang-banged by two Forest Lurkers and some bear. I quickly checked his health and knew he was going to die pretty quickly. So I helped him out and saved him from dying. There's no real reward for me doing this, I don't get any XP nor any loot, but I don't really care because that's the kind of player I am. Dying sucks and I'll help out almost anyone. He thanked me, I said NP and I was on my way. He then called me back and gave me two items that I needed to complete a quest (which the XP given from completion levelled me up). Not willing to take anything for free, I gave him basically a complete new armor setup that I made. Felt good and another person is added to the friends list. Two weeks into the game for me and for the most part the community is as friendly as it was one day one.

Fzoul, if you can swing it all, jump on in. It's a blast, and I also have to admit having a bunch of folks from these parts in the game has helped tremendously. If you're a solo player like me, the game is definitely solo friendly. I'm at 18 now, and still doing the majority of my quests solo. On a couple of them I could see how having a group of people would have been a big help, including one I'm currently working on that involves killing some invading NPC orcs.

Zedd tells me the game requires a lot more grouping at higher levels, like the 30 range, so it would be nice if we could have a 3DG guild by then. All we need it 10 people, but we only have four so far: Me, Bruenor, Zedd and the Cap'n. So, we'll have to convince your wife to sign up to it as well, Bruenor!

And yeah, if she needs a hand in night elf territory, both Zedd and I have been through there. I spent my first 8 levels there and had to go back for beast taming training. I'm mostly in human territory now, but can go back to help out if Zedd's not around. Heck, if you want to help her, I can guide you up there, too. Once you open up the griffon flight paths, it's very easy to move around. But it can be expensive.

I was only on for a brief time yesterday afternoon, but it was enough to build half of my XP for next level. I've also been working at the auction house lately, trying to make some money off my leather creations. I don't mind providing them to you all for nothing, but I'm also discovering I can make some money off them, too. Another thing that sells well are consumables such as smithing/tailering/etc. components.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be on for at least an hour or two tonight, killing some orcs and gnolls and making leather products. :):

And Cap'n sure, if we can figure something for the photo contest, that'd be cool. Let's try to think of something that would work up near ironforge, where you guys are. I can come on up and meet you for it. I'll be there for the auction house anyway.

Right, since we're all Alliance characters you'd have to be an Alliance race (Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome) in order to hang around with the rest of us. You could probably find us with a Horde character, but we couldn't communicate and as soon as you hit Alliance territory you're likely to get jumped pretty damn fast by other Alliance players.

Rafal Dudek
December 13th, 2004, 03:02 pm
you need a pvp flag to get jumped though. How you get pvp is the following:

1. attack NPC of opposing faction
2. type /pvp

Not sure if you'll be able to communicate with us though. Also, not sure if guards can whack you around though.

I bought and installed WoW just now. I am a Dwarf Hunter named Donag. I just hit level 3 and had to logoff to go to my girlfriend's houre. I will definitely be back online tonight. Look me up. I am definitely up for a 3DGamers guild when we get enough people together.

Yay! Another Dwarf! Dwarves rule!

Take that you Night Elf Pansies :p:

*grumble* Make fun of my beard and my smell, that'll show you *grumble*

heh more dwarves to practice my gun shooting on. Because you know... they're kinda short and run around fast so :p:

Oh yea, we could also come up with some games like Dwarf Tossing, Beard Pulling... and so on =]

Yay! :cheer:

Let's play "kick the dwarf" and see how far they go! But we'll have to remember to run away really fast, they get angry pretty easily!

I have a question. This game may "appear" around my house about Christmas Day. Can one copy of this game have more than one character? Say if someone wanted to be a human some days and an Elf on others.

You can have up to 50 characters I think. But only one can play at a time so if your spouse wants to join, you might have to get a new copy of game =]

I got home about 11:30 last night from the girlfriend's house and cranked up WoW again. Wonderful game. With lots of help from Grunst (Cap'n), I made it halfway through level 7 before I went to bed at 3:45 a.m. It's now 8:12 a.m. and I'm back at it again. (Think I care for the game?) Thanks for the armor goes to Grunst. It fits perfect. 56" short. How'd you know? :D:

I completed a few quests. One for a new gun that does a lot more damage than the original. Earned enough coin for a new hand axe that makes melee a lot quicker. I also found the Leatherworking and Skinner trainers in Ironforge.

The graphics are very beautiful and the sound is very good, too. Everything runs smooth as silk on my rig (see sig). Ping is between 90 and 115 for the most part. No lag whatsoever.

Back to the hunting. See you all in-game.

No problem NSF, glad to be of help. When ya get up a level or two and go after the quest to save the herd, look me up. It's a perfect quest to do as a group.

<shivers>That Yeti is nasty!<shivers>

Speaking of the Yeti, I actually had a good experience tonight. I was approached by a fellow dwarf and asked if I had any light armor. I didn't but told him I'd be happy to skin some for him. Well I did and in return he grouped with me and helped me find and face the Yeti, something he had already done. Man I hope the community stays this nice.

Now I'm off to go create a new character for the horde. I feel like seeing the other side of things for a bit.

Question:

If I were to do this, I would have to pick the appropriate Race, in order to "hang" with you guys right?

In other words,.... I couldn't pick an Undead Warlock, and cruise around town with y'all.

Fzoul

you could be an undead warlock and hang around w/ me. :P

... or you could make a gnomish warlock and come over to the light side, where all the cool kids hang out...
