Far Cry help

i am at the "boat" level
you blow up the old ship with the radio tower on it. then the heli comes and you must shoot it out of the sky....

i have hit this thing with all that i have, 12 rockets, 300 rounds of ammo and about 6 grenades...ITS STILL FLYING.....


whats the secret?

This was also a very frustrating part in the game for me as well!

It takes 9 rocket hits to take the helicopter down. So I would say of your 12 rockets used less than 9 are finding thier mark.

If you stay on the ship and try to take it down, you'll find it very difficult since the ship eventually sinks. An alternative is to jump ship as soon as the bomb goes off and before the helicopter comes and swim to shore. Hide behind a palm tree that will shield you until you can poke your head out and get in your shots.

If you still can't beat it, turn the difficulty level down to easy and then play the level.

If you still can't beat it, turn on "God" powers through the console and finish off the helicopter at your leisure.

I think the point is actually to shoot the guy hanging out the side of the chopper enough that he falls and the chopper takes off.

My strategy worked very well. I after planting the bomb on the ship I jumped off and swam to the nearest point of land. On the beach you'll see a small bush that you can hide in. When the chopper flies over you, just let loose with your guns and shoot the mercenary. Because you're hidden in the bush, he can't see you and never fires back.

I did the same thing - swim out and hide behind a tree or bush on the nearby beach - the heli's bullets won't hit you if you're behind it well enough - and then just peak out and keep pelting the heli with your rocket launcher...or the gunner.

ok guys...that was actually easy...first time back with 11 rockets..(i went up a difficulty in the beginning)
now im at the "dam" part where he throws you out of the heli and you have no weapons etc,etc....what to do from here how do i get to the lab? jump down and try and run for it?

Yup, jump down the waterfall and try to sneak your way forward. This is a super hard part, since you're basically without any weapons or ammo.

You should try to win the level several times on your own. If it seems impossible, here's a snip of a spoiler walkthrough by "Dark Hole Sun"...

You’re plunged down onto another island all alone...though Krieger charitably
dropped down an m4 with a whole ten bullets! The trigens for the first part of
the level are somewhat crippled – the big guys usually touting rockets on their
arms find themselves without the rockets. Lucky, lucky for us!

Use your only ten bullets to kill the trigen near the edge. Afterwards, dive
down the waterfall. Once you hit the pool at the bottom, the trigens in the
area will become alert. Haul butt northeast – straight into the dense forestry,
ignoring the crippled trigens. Along a path you’ll find a dead merc and the
trigens who killed him. Grab his p90, which he no longer needs, and put some
bullets into the mutants around you. Proceed in a general northern direction
till you reach a large crate, which has ammo. Take a breath, the worst part is
over.

Climb into the downed helicopter, and after the cutscene use the turrets to
take out the trigens across the river. Kill the ones with guns first – and be
very thankful there are no rocket-trigens in your immediate vicinity. After the
trigens across the river are dead, you’re probably going to have to deal with
the ones behind you! Hopefully they haven’t gotten close enough to swipe at
you. Once they’re clear, cross the river.


After finishing the game for the first time, I went back to the start of this level and used a cheat code to give myself all weapons & ammo. It was kinda fun kicking back way up top and sniping the creatures from a great distance. :lol:

OK, I'm not quite at that part yet, but I still keep on having trouble finding cheats that work :blush: ! So where did you get yours Gaim Master that actually worked and what steps did you have to take to use them? Hahah.. I'm lost! :crazy:

while i was witimg for an answer i thought i would try the sneaking ides...first time..no problem...actually was easy...just hadnt thought of it the first 5-6 times....

The easier way is to just stay in the water next to the waterfall...and they will come in after you and drown.
