I came across The Middle Earth Mod (http://www.memod.co.uk/) website and I have to say it looks pretty darn interesting. This is a total conversion of the game.
As a big fan of Morrowind I've been looking for a reason to load it back up and play through it again. I've already played it through 3 times with and without mods and plugins plus played through Bloodmoon and Tribunal. I still love the game but I'm looking for something to completely freshen up the gaming experience. Maybe MEMOD will do it. I'll be keeping an eye on it as it seems the modders are getting close to release.

That looks pretty impressive indeed. I haven't played MW in quite some time, so a good mod could come in nicely to get me hooked again. :):

Looks great to me. I love the screenshots / concept art so far and the fact that they are going to include the entire city of Minas Tirith in full detail. That should be a lot of fun to play.

Wow. I'll definetly get this mod when it comes out, it looks really impresive. I just don't like the "When it's finished" release date. I hate waiting years for games to come out.

looks cool, I always was looking for a middle earth conversion for NWN, but if morrowind delivers it's all good.

Here's another very good looking Morrowind mod project that someone posted a link to on another game site.

Looks nice and I like the fact that they give you a very clear picture of how far along the development of the project is with their "progress bars". Very nice indeed. I'll have to keep an eye on this one as well.

Don't forget about Tamriel rebuilt, if they ever finish it that is. :)

I've been keeping an eye on those and a few other projects for a long time now.
My biggest concern is that Morrowind is fairly unforgiving when it comes to high polygon counts. This is why even some farily basic mods of tiny towns or areas become brutal slide shows with a frame rate below 10. That and Bethesda hasn't corrected for the games memory leak(s).
After having tried a few hundred mods, I've got a few favs. I'll list them when I get the chance to dig up their URLs and such.

Time to put my thread necromancy powers to use. Arise, dead forum topic!
On a related note, been playing a lot of Morrowind lately. Aside from Tamriel Rebuilt, the other mod sites listed here seem to be MIA. I'd been playing the core game straight, but then caved in and used a flying broom to speed up travel (otherwise the game is painfully slow). After I got killed a bazillion times by the same assassin (in the Mages Guild, no less--why don't those idiots help?!?!) I decided to artificially beef up my character, and now I'm having a blast.
At any rate, can anyone suggest some good mods or plug-ins? I've resigned myself to just having fun instead of playing the game without assistance, so now I want to go all out.

Obviously it's been a while, but the main Morrowind mods I recall being very helpful were:
LessAgressiveCliffRacer (yes it is misspelled) or optionally, LessAggressiveCritters
Seyda_Neen_Boat
super_creeper
realsignposts_0614

Deja vu (http://gamez.com/pc-games-forum/165857-morrowind-mods.html).
Note: MGE is still being updated pretty regularly (just a few days ago in fact). Here's a link to the latest version (http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1014824).
Note 2: And no Morrowind Mod topic is complete without a link to TELESPHOROS' LIST o'MODS (http://www.mwmythicmods.com/telesphoros.htm)

Actually, that old post jogged my memory about the exact name of one mod...
LessAgressiveCliffRacer (yes it is misspelled)
Will also fix that in my above reply.

Sometime in the past I downloaded and installed something called the Morrowind Graphics Extender which enables widescreen support. You can tweak much more with it also, but only recommend if you know what you're doing.
Also someone is working on a mod which makes trees and stuff move. Kind of like when the wind blows. Sorry I can't recall the link but it was still under construction anyway. Wasn't ready for prime time yet.

LOL. That's from the old GWN forums, right? (PC Gameworld for the old timers.) That's some real thread necromancy for you.

Just found out about this new Morrowind Overhaul mod. Extensive graphical updates, sounds, etc, and apparently in an automated installer package. Check out the trailer:

Malukah's song is being remixed into everything.
Looks good. Never was able to get into Morrowind despite multiple attempts, though I know it is definitely a popular game in the series.
