Hi, all Half lifers :):
Today i talk to someone and he ask me about what's lambda logo really mean in HL? I just know that in HL2 it's a logo of resistance citizens. In scince Lambda is the unit of weave length. So anyone know meaning of Lambda logo which HL use.

Thanks.

In Half life, there was a very big area you were trying to reach called the Lambda facility. For a large portion of the game you were fighting to get there. Maybe that's why? I don't know for sure, just speculating.

Lambda is the symbol typically used to represent the decay constant in an exponential decay equation. For instance, most radioactive substances display an exponentially decaying trend over time, and each one has it's own lambda value. The half-life of a radioactive material is the amount of time it takes to decay to half of its initial amount. Basically, the higher the value of lambda, the shorter the substance's half-life is because it decays quicker. "Half-life" probably refers to the abundance of radioactive hazards scattered throughout the game.

It might have some double meaning as well, i.e. Gordon Freeman's life faces exponentially deadlier risks as the game goes on... who knows?

I like QN's theory very much.
