German gaming site Gamefront.de reported some first infobits (probably from CGW magasine). Here they are, conveniently translated for you (thanks to the guys at RPGDot).

- The game is set five years after the events in the original game. You are a Jedi outcast who returns to the Republic which is in a shattered state after the Revan Malak war. The Jedi Order is hiding in the Jedi temple ruins on Dantooine.

- Revan and HK-47 are going to be part of the game again. Revan will not be a playable character. Ebon Hawk is going to return as well just as other characters from the previous game. Further details have yet to be revealed.

- There will be no savegame import from the original game. The game engine is the same that was used for the prequel.

- There is going to be a new Jedi "Prestige" class. The existing ones (Guardian, Soldier etc) will be there as well.

- The subtitle of the game is supposed to be 'The Sith Lords'.

- Anticipated release date: February 2005 (US version)

Rumors abound that Obsidian Entertainment is developing KOTOR 2. Obsidian for those who aren't familiar is founded by Feargus Urquhart the mastermind behind the Baldurs Gate series along with a number of other classic RPG's such as Planescape Torment. No confirmation from Obsidian on this right now, but we might hear of something at E3 this year. :shades:

So Revan would be evil I take it. A few good characters are dead then. Muahahaha. It's good to see HK-47 come back, the best robot that ever was.

That's kind of cool. I bet Revan and HK are buddy buddy, and it's going to be your job to take 'em down; either in your own power play, or as a goodie two shoes Jedi wannabe.

.

Guess I better actually get around to playing the original game before the sequel comes out.

You really need to. I am a good ways into it and to me, it's at least as good as the Baldur's Gate series and Planescape: Torment. Up there with RPG royalty.

Yep, it's a great RPG that ranks up there with the best IMO. It's not as huge as BG2, or as involved as PsT, but the Star Wars atmosphere, the plot twists, and just the general fun of it make it one of the most fun to play RPG's ever. Definitely try it out. :):

Ok I have to completely agree there. Can't say i've seen any game that utilized their robot like they did. Only futurama bender comes close LOL.

On another note. The dialog needs to be similar in style and contrast. That is what truely made the game for me. The replys, the commentary. Everything from meatbags to how cinical particular dark replies could be were intermeshed quite impressively. The dynamics of the dialog is another point. Like when you decided to pursue the dark path and you unlock the assassination for the droid. Sure, we didn't really see anything from it. It was just a good additive to the story.
