This is a call to all!
We want to begin forming an official 3D Gamers online gaming team. I don't know if you want to call it so much a clan, but we want to promote active interest in our game servers (http://forums.gamers.org/showthread.php?t=3204) and I feel we can do that by getting members together to organize and schedule gaming events on the game servers.
The only thing I would request is that team members are active and regularly announce here on the forums scheduled games times on the game servers so that we can keep them active. Since this is a global community we can even create teams based on various locations around the world and create times which are friendly for all who are interested.
We do have a number of very good online players so this is an opportunity to prove your skills or develop your skills if you've always wanted to get a lot of practice.
There is a desire here to have ladders and keep stats.
We want to see our game servers busy so please join us!
Send me a PM if you're interested in joining the official 3D Gamers team.

I will try and play if I have the game that's on the server..... I don't own UT2K4, and I don't think I want to buy it just for here...but when there is a game on the server that I own, then I'll jump in.

Thanks for responding gang and anyone please feel free to post here directly if interested.
I'm currently in the process of appointing a "Captain" of sorts and I'm going to give it a little more time for more people to express their desire to join in.
Basically the Captain will be recognized as a head of the team. Actually now that I think about it, it might be more fair if those interested in being on the team would choose the Captain themselves. So I think I'll let more chime in here and in a few days we can elect someone to head the team.
The Captain will be given ability to kick/ban unruly players and he'll also be able to assign others to have that ability as he/she sees fit.

A re-hash of the idea here. We would like the team to help promote activity on the game server(s) by organizing and promoting game play times. Note that these organized events are not exclusive to 3D Gamers members provided there are enough available slots at the time the game is active. Everyone is free to join in at anytime!

I've contacted those that have responded and expressed interest in forming a team and Lou Cifer has accepted the position of heading up the team.
Thanks to Lou and we look forward to some organized gaming in the near future!

I'm also interested. Which games and when do we play?

As mentioned in the first post, right now we have UT2004. Hopefully more games will be coming. It all depends on the interest level and activity on the current game server.
Look for posts from Lou in the future regarding organizing events. You're always welcome to try to get folks together to play on the server. As it stands now it's getting little use so it wouldn't be a problem organizing a match.

I'll play but I can't make any promises about how just how much. Work sucks.

I'd play if you'd do a BF1942 desertcombat server.. consequently the only game I own right now untill halflife2 comes out.

I'll join. I am currently in HL2 clan(CS:S) but we're going nowhere.

I own ut2004 and when I get my hardrive at christmas can install more games, and buy a few because of my job.

Well, well, well, multiplayer victims !! :moon:

Looks like all of my griping at meetings of my local Chamber of Commerce, County officials and my State Representative have actually paid off. I've got a T1 connection now !!
:cheer:

No more of that retched 28.8kbps dial-up.

I actually have a faster connection now than I did two-years ago when I had cable in the St. Louis area.

Let the parade of victims commence !!

:gun2:

Now let's see what MP games I have right now....

Call of Duty (no expansion)
Doom III
Far Cry
Ghost Recon (DS & IT)
Jedi Knight - Outcast
Jedi Knight - Academy
MoH:AA (Sh & Bt) *personal fav*
NOLF
NOLF 2
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield
RtCW - GOTY edition
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

I'll probably be downloading RtCW: ET very soon.

What I don't have, though may/possibly pick up is UT2004 and all of the Battlefield games. Too many various customer complaints surrounding CS:S with HL2, plus the lack of a complete SDK for modders, has me wanting to wait a few months on that one.

woo-hoo! Dogpile on Gaim!

:group2:

Time for some more "classic Gaim" multiplayer moments involving ladders (from what I hear and have seen in screenies). Maybe we'll see something like this:

:grenade:

Haha, I crack myself up sometimes...

Whoa gaim, you could acctually host for us now :p:. Figures, someone gets a nice connection AFTER we get a real sever heh.

It's DSL, so the upload is limited to a scant 256Kbps.

Well, after two hours of some MoH:AA, I'm already getting back into the swing of things. On servers with 25+ people playing Team Match, I consistantly scored in the top 5. Not bad for being 'out of it' for two solid years. :face10:

Still some rust to be scraped off though. That's okay, I know what I'll be doing this weekend. :gun:

lol, ya Donjo I have twice that upload!

I'm going to have to uber frag you guys sometime with my 1337 t33l/l4g3r c0l\/lpu73r g41m sl<1llz0rz!!!1!!!1!1eleven11!1!!11!!1one!!!!!!!

I've got a T1 connection now

It's DSL, so the upload is limited to a scant 256Kbps.

In my part of the county a T1 line is usually a 1.5mb up / 1.5mb down connection, usually directly from a phone company and costing close to 600-700 bucks a month.

Now it sounds like maybe you got 1.5mb/256k DSL, which is fine for gaming, but sure is no T1

Um Gaim I got bad news for you, we've all moved on from MOHAA :p:

Gaim Mastr
November 25th, 2004, 09:55 am
Yeah, my statement was a little misleading. I meant that my download speed is the same as a T1. While the upload speed is weak, it's definitely strong enough for any online gaming I want to do now. But I wouldn't bother trying to host a game.

I know, MC. The world has moved on to newer MP games that I don't own. Mainly because there was no point in me getting them before. But since I left off on MoH:AA, I figured it's a good place to start to get back into the swing of things.

So tell me guys, what's the best 'new' game to get into some great/heavy action ??
And what game is coming out soon that's expected to be really high in the MP community ??

Well the top 10 games for all x-fire users in terms of total minutes played are(this is just today)...

World of Warcraft
Counter-Strike 1.6
Counter-Strike Source
Call of Duty Multiplayer
Call of Duty United Offensive Multiplayer
EverQuest 2
Half-Life 2**
America's Army: Special Forces
Battlefield 1942
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

**No MP

Those are just todays top games. Other games that are often seen on the top 10 that aren't there currently are: Star Wars Galaxies, Battlefield Vietnam, and Warcraft 3.

Welcome back to the 21st century Gaim, you should think of picking up BF1942 and then DL the Desert Combat mod, this is a very fun MP game.

Lou :globe:

Edit: I would even be willing to re-install Ghost Recon so I could play the mbc map against you and anyone else willing to join.

It's been mentioned over at AVF that challenging everyone to UT2K4 would be a great idea...it might still be something to consider

Are you up to the challenge?

Of course, I'm still on a stupid 56k dialup connection, plus I don't have UT2k4 yet, but I can correct that latter problem, but I can't afford DSL or cable or anything like that at all...stupid part-time job

...scratch that...I do have UT2k4...but I'm still on dialup....stupid part-time job
