Howdy gang,
Well we have one week under our belts now with the new forums and I’m really pleased to see things going as well as they have. Membership is increasing steadily on a daily basis and I’m looking forward to hearing from all of you folks on a regular basis. I’ll be very interested to see where we stand with membership a year from now.
After nearly 2 months of seeing each other Christie and I had our first “heated discussion”. I received a phone call the other night while the two of us were watching Queer Eye. It was from a girl I was seeing off and on before I met Christie. I had told the other girl previously that I had met someone and the other girl wished me well. But she’s been checking in occasionally I guess to see if it’s going to last. Christie got mad last night because I didn’t tell her to quit calling when she called again last night. So I got word from the boss, next time she calls I have to tell the other girl to quit calling. After that episode I elected to not tell Christie that I actually got another phone call at work from a different girl I went out with a few times last year. Once again I told this girl that I’ve met someone and really no longer “playing the field”. It was only a couple months ago I had given up on the dating scene and figured I was going to grow up to be an old crabby (and single) hermit. Now the tables have completely turned and I find myself having to tell girls to quit calling. Some of you guys will think I’m a fool for sending women away, but when you find the right girl it’s a good idea to not risk losing her. You women out there must have some sort of radar thing going. When a guy is single you won’t have anything to do with him. But if a guy is with a woman he’s suddenly worth checking out. I have a few theories on this but honestly too lazy to get into it right now.
After spending nearly the past 2 weeks together my girl is returning to work, which means a lot less time seeing each other. As a result it looks like Saturday night I may finally return to Far Cry. I haven’t played in 2 weeks and anxious to get back to the madness. I might also check out the Klitschko fight on HBO.
Enjoy your weekend gang. Party on!
:shades:

I'm working tomorrow, so another short weekend for me. I probably won't be playing anything either, as I'm very busy just now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

You know how to tell if the dating scene around my area is heating up ??

You hear dueling banjos in the background. :scared2:

I'll most likely be working on the house this weekend. Might do some crappie fishing this Sunday. Still haven't seen that BF1942 title screen yet. But I might finally start that game up instead of fishing, depending on the weather.

Already had some tornados roll past the area. Thankfully they were a few counties south of here (about 60 miles). Last spring was the closest I've ever been to and seen a tornado. It was literally right over the top of my head. Anyone seen the Bill Paxton movie "Twister"? Remember that scene at the end where the tornado was right over them and they saw blue sky up the middle? Minus the cheesy Hollywood FX, and that's almost exactly what I saw.

Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience..... or so I very seriously hope !! :scared:

Here's to a kinder, gentler spring in the American Ozarks. :cheers:

Yup, Happy Friday!

What a long week this was! Our director is taking a bunch of us out for drinks after work, so that should be cool. We also have a WestJet "Celebrity Night" tomorrow night, which is a talent show featuring WestJet performers. I went last year, and it was a lot of fun, so I'm looking forward to it.

In other news, my hometeam Flames managed to squeaka win in OT against the Red Wings last night, and I'm very happy about that. They play again tomorrow, which starts at 1:00 locally, so I'll be able to watch the game before the party.

All is well on the "girl" front. Kathy and I are fast approaching two months together, and that's great. It's been a lot of fun!

Have a great weekend everybody, and stay away from your banjo, Gaim!

Happy Friday all! Weekend will be family stuff - no need to bore you with the details. Gamewise, playing Arx Fatalis on Xbox and need to install Syberia II on the pc. Sheepishly, I have to admit that SplinterCell Pandora was boring me to tears so I traded it in. Hey Gaim is this the guy who plays at those real family friendly gatherings in your area? :eek:

Impresario, that guy always freaked me out :D:

Happy Friday!

Guess what? This week-end I have more homework and essays to type. I swear, whenever I hand in one I get 10 more. I'll still be given homework when this semester will be over.

My parents are leaving for a week so I'll have the house to myself again. Y'know what that means :wink:

On the gaming front, I might pick up Painkiller if it's not too expensive. Other than that I'll be playing some BG1, I just reinstalled it. I WILL beat the series from start to finish, someday...

You hit the nail on the head, Mr. N, with your "radar" comment. Even at "sixtyish," I'm experiencing the same phenomenon again, myself. After a ten-year marriage, and then three or four other five-year+ significant relationships; I had pretty much said "To hell with it," and the damned hormones have subsided, anyway. Well, a friend whom I have known since she was thirteen, and who had grown up, and gotten married to a good man for thirty-one years, had him die about eight months, ago, and she has basically just swept me away and erased all my hermit cynicism. (Made me realize the hormone situation wasn't as bad as I had thought, either. Heh, heh.) The phenomenon you speak of is now happening to me, too. Women at the bar are rubbing up against me, old friends are dropping off food, and and I seem to be getting those titillating little looks of "I might be interested" from total strangers. Women! They've got powers we just can't fathom, so I just try to "go with the flow," you know?

So, its a good Friday for me too; although I've got to work, tomorrow, and then Monday I've got to go have a tooth pulled. I've fought to keep all my teeth for a long time, and I guess I've done pretty good to make it to this age and still have them all, but the time is here; and one of them has to go. Oh well. I plan on enjoying the weekend, anyway. The weather is beautiful down here in Daytona Bch., and all the events, like Bike Week, Race Weeks, Spring Break, and BCR, are over; so we have our town back to ourselves with only the normal tourist traffic. I plan on playing a lot of Far Cry, and might even finish it. What a great game! Other than that, I guess it will just be the normal grass mowing, chores, pool shooting, a few beers, and being alive. I hope all you good people have a good weekend, too. Edward.

.

I call it The Lean & Hungry Look Phenomenon.

Strange how it seems to accelerate when you're with a woman, especially an attractive / desirable one. I just figure that it's sort of an established, secret intuitive rating system to help females of our species share information about basic male qualifications and character.

Sort of, If she's with "him" then he must be "okay". So if she ever gets tired of him, I suppose it would be alright to use him for awhile.

Of course we read it as, Hey, look at me! I'm so cool that every woman around is dying to sleep with me. I am just so damned hot!

Cheers, Terry

TGIF!

Well, so far I have nothing planned for this weekend. Maybe do a little looking around for some cars to shop. I'm still set on getting that Lexus IS for work but I dont know exactly how badly the insurance on that sucker is gonna go up :p: Maybe I'll wait a few more years before getting something expensive. My Mitsubishi Galant still doin fine.

Raf, you should try and get your hands on the IS 430 (http://www.supercars.net/cars/2003@$Lexus@$IS%20430%20Conceptg.html) :D

They showed the creation of that bad boy on Rides (in High Def no less) (http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/rides/rides.html) a couple of weeks ago.

As for my weekend, hopefully the fencing team will be done so I can go do some backyard work, watching hockey and I have some track time Sunday afternoon to "break in" a set of tires I bought for my car :D

Somewhere in there is Splinter Cell : PT and maybe a little trip back to Outcast.

Yay, Friday is here! Not too much planned, I may not even go to work tomorrow which means a complete weekend for me. I'll probably do a few tax returns at home which I do on the side. Easy money for not a lot of work.

Then I'll sit down and enjoy some quality gaming time, mixed in with a little hockey. It's funny that I am cheering for the team I was raised to hate (Calgary), but the NHL has changed and the small market cities need to stick together. It's gone from the Battle of Alberta to the Battle for Alberta. I also want to see San Jose continue to kick the crap out of Colorado like last night (ain't that right Gen-Hex). Ditto for Philly and Tampa Bay.

That should take care of the entire weekend. Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Friday all.

I've got a mix of gaming with a sprinkle of yard work wrapped around a hockey game or two planned this weekend. Nothing too exciting but sometimes those make up the best weekends.

Have a great one all.

baaahhhhhhhhahahahahahaha

Good Ol' Maple Leafs fans. They think the hockey world revolves around them. ;)

I have two words; 19 and 67. Since then, the only original 6 team with a longer record of futility... Chicago. :D

Let me put it this way;

while (LeafsOffice->Coach == PAT_QUINN &&
LeafsRoster->DarcyTucker.Status == ACTIVE_PLAYER &&
LeafsRoster->TieDomi.Status == ACTIVE_PLAYER)
{
StanleyCup.Drought++;
}

Go Habs
Go Flyers
Go Flames
Go Shavs.....er..Avalarks... yes, I really am torn here. I do love the Avs, but man, the Sharks just look like a great "team".

Have a great weekend everybody!

I've got quite some work to do this weekend, but I'll manage to squeeze in some time for gaming. :): Currently I'm really enjoying the Warlords Battlecry III demo, and occasionally playing some KOTOR. If weather and time permit I might also go out to do some photography in Antwerp. :):

Well my week has been packed with drama. Workhops, my play earlier, seeing other plays...

Yesterday for example I got home at 10:30, making a 15 hour day for me :S.

Tonight I go to 2 more plays and then the award ceremonies.
