So dangerous are the latest vulnerabilities that the Department of Homeland Security took the rare step of briefing the media yesterday, warning that quick action by users and network operators was crucial to avoiding serious Internet disruption.

.

I think that the only people who are capable of even understanding the world's top hackers, who might stand a chance of stopping them are other world-class hackers. I say offer the very best of that whole, global covert community (where ever they may live) a TON of money and full immunity from any and all criminal prosectution or other legal / civil / financial liabilites to come work for government, law enforcement, military, corporate and other powerful interests to labor full-time on the problem from every conceivable angle.

While they're at it, they can also work on this patheically intrusive hassle to legitimate customers called CD copyright protection as well as adware, spyware, spam and every other nuisance in the digital / cyber world.

Cheers, Terry

I remember awhile back some talk of having mandatory classes for people who want to use the internet. That would probably be a tremendous boost to security. Not that you could ever implement that, though.

Yep, thats probably the only course of action. I wonder how many companies actually hire security firms (pro hackers) to test their security?
