It was either this game or MOH for my birthday and it was tuff decission but I will be getting MOH, I saw a sniper lvl in MOH and that did it for me, I'm a junky for sniper maps.

Personally, my hopes are alot higher for Black Ops than they were for Medal of Honor. I've been playing MoH since it came out, and it has far too many things wrong with it for a game that is trying to compete with the CoD franchise. My first problem was that you can't see your ping in-game. This is not cool, because there are plenty of times I am ducking behind a corner for cover, and still get shot a few seconds later. Second, the bolt action snipers take about 3 shots to kill someone if you're lucky, and that's just not realistic at all. It's a fun game for a while, but After only about a month of playing I'm finding myself waiting for a new game.

Sorry about the rant, I just thought I'd put in my two cents before you made the decision to buy it :D:

Not sure, but I'm definitely looking forward to the zombie mode! This time instead of Nazi zombies, you play as either JFK, McNamara, Nixon, or Castro in the Pentagon. If it's anything like the zombie mode in World at War, it'll be re-playable for a very long time. And also if it's similar to WaW, we should be able to play four-player co-op in the zombie mode as well. Is anyone interested?

i found medal of honor single player to be kind of short. Same with james bond blood stone. Hopefully black ops will be a bit longer. Multiplayer means nothing to me so its all about single player.

The single player is pretty darn short, if you sit down on a weekend and start playing you'll finish it the same day.

Apparently CoD: Black Ops runs like crap. There was a patch yesterday and I'm not feeling any badness (but I run a core i7) but some people are experiencing unplayability on dual core systems.

MP is apparently terribly broken as well, I haven't played with it myself yet, but a lot of people are reporting jerkiness as well. Again, the patched helped, but I wouldn't consider it a sign to buy the game yet. I bought it mostly for SP and to support the decision to go back to dedicated servers.

Single player ran just fine for me, before said patch (but I am also on an i7). Settings are maxed out. The multiplayer isn't broken either to be honest, people just love to complain. I've had a couple times of jerkiness but it rarely affects play in any way.

Yep, I second what tonofclay said up there. I didn't notice anything wrong with the way the single player ran, even when playing zombies in co-op. It would be really fun to play zombies with a few of you guys from the forums if a few of you decided to buy it.

As for the multiplayer, I did notice a small amount of lag at first, but it was certainly not game breaking. Since the patch there's been absolutely no lag for me. Of course there's the occasional lag spike here and there (although it's pretty rare), but that's expected in any online game. It's insanely addicting, and I'm sure clay can agree that it is really hard to stop playing once you get started.

I just had a birthday and the wife got me MOH and Black Ops, I'm jumping into MOH tonight, oh ya, I also got some new headphones also, Turtle Beach Ear Force X11's. I'm running a dual core and well see if there is any problems with each of these games.

Good question but I think that it dosen't matter as long as the game is legal and I have the legal key. The seller at Amazon is rated at 100% so I'm taking it on faith that the seller wouldn't sell a product that can't be used by another.

DavidP you were right. I cannot register the game because the seller had already registered it with Steam. Since it was sold through Amazon.com I feel that all is not lost and that I'll get my money back. I also appreciate the security that Steam has inacted.

Thought so, when i installed mine it said it was registered to my account, what it does mean though is that you can NEVER buy or sell an old game :(:
How about trying a different key code , i am sure there are places on the net you could try to get a different key:wink:

I had the same sort of problem when i Ebayed me copy of Burnout Paradise, ended up giving the guy my login details for EA so he could play online.

Got it today! I played a short round of the sp and it was awesome!
It has a very up close and personal feel that I like, sort of Splinter Cell with a lot more action. But I already hate the save game system.
Oh well.

I like the version with the Stones.

Thats odd, when I sent you and other people an invite I had started a private match, so there were slots for you and other people to join, unless the invite was still there after I went to a public server.

Yes it can be tough, I die alot and I like a challange. But the reason I like to play hardcore maps is that I dont like the kill cam, it takes time away from the game and it also gives away your possition.

I finally reached Sergeant Major on the ranked servers. I don't think I deserve it because I suck most of the time. I would use the excuse "I'm new at the game" but so is everybody else. I think I'm getting old.:(:

Installed my COD Black Ops last night. It took over four hours to install the Steam setup. All that I can say about the graphics is "WOW". Having the two PNY video cards really did help.

Sorry Mikell, I had to leave that game on Nuketown, it's a good map when theres a few players but when you get over 20 all strategy goes out the window and the fun factor drops like a rock.
Plus I'm pretty sure that one player was hacking, theres no way you can win every time with scores he was getting.

I'll probibly be on again tonight after I fool around with Prism a little more, I'm starting to figure that program out.

I'm at the point where I can go into Prestige, but if I choose to do so I will start over at lvl 1 and loose everything, but in Prestige I guess there are other weapons available that you cant get otherwise, don't know if I want to do that.

Yea I don't think theres any new weapons or anything, you just get a different little icon and you get a new background for your playercard with each prestige level you get.

Theres a couple more things it does, when an opposing team member puts there crosshairs on you it doesn't turn red, and no name appears above your head.
It's kind of funny when you turn to see someone from the other team just standing there looking at you trying to figure out which team your on and you drop him like a rock :lol:

Just finished the single player Black Ops. Hope that there will be sequels to this awesome game. My rig handled it without one issue. Those who built this game knew what they were doing. The one part where I was in Hong Kong coming out of the building onto the roof was awesome. It showed a B747 in precise detail on approach to the old Kai Tak Airport which closed in 1998, I knew exactly where I was since I had been in that section of the city many times. It was in the electronic section and it was near the Golden Arcade. Man oh man I need to see more of this type of action.

So I bought the CoD/BlackOs:First Strike DLC for $15 on Steam.
The new maps are The Berlin Wall, Stadium, Discovery and Kowloon. There is a new zombie map called Ascention but I haven't tried it yet.

The Germany map is crazy.:eek: Gotta be mindful of cover. There are mostly snipers on those servers. So far so good.:thumbup:

So it's worth it then? It's cool there's a map with snipers...I have never been able to snipe in COD can never find a good spot.

Was hoping it'd be free for PC hehe, but oh well. If it's good I'll bite the bullet and buy it.
