Square obviously realized there's money to made in sequels and spinoffs after the success of Final Fantasy X-2:

FFVII was the game that brought me into the console RPG fold, and it will probably always be one of my favorite games. So, I'm looking forward to Advent Children, and Derge of Cerberus could also be interesting.

I'm confused as to what Advent Children actually is; some places I've looked at made it seem like a movie, some places made it seem like a whole new game, and yet some other places made it seem like a game with horribly long movie sequences.

Any of the above would be cool, though

(Well, I guess now that it is closer to release and many many places are saying "it's a movie", it's a movie. :p: )

Is Advent Children exclusive to the PSP, or will it come out for the PS2 as well?

I am sure sony will make it so you can easily buy an "adapter" so you can play those PSP games on the PS2, but if you mean a port, I am not sure.

Advent Children is a movie, they plan to put it out for PSP and they will also have a DVD version.

I was telling someone the other day how much I liked Demon Stone, and they told me that they thought I'd really get into Final Fantasy. What do people think? I really like Demon Stone, and I've seen a little of the FF stuff but have never played it.

FF is generally turn-based RPGing, while games like Demonstone are "action RPGs" which means a lot more button mashing/action, and everything happens in "real time".

With FF7, you take turns deciding who's going to do what. IT's menu driven, and when you make your selection, the characters will respond accordingly (i.e., attacki, heal, summon, etc.). So it's a bit more tactical/strategic because you get to plan your moves and your attack strategy.

Some of the FF games, like FFX-2 use a more active system, in that a menu pops up, but time is still passing as you make your selections. If your slow with the menus, you'll get your ass handed to you, esp. if you're fighting a boss.

All in all, I really like the FF games, but I also really enjoy the action RPGs as well. FF7 would be a good choice for you if you want to see what it's all about, because it'll only cost you $15 (if that). Unles you want something with PS2 level production values, in which case you should try out FFX for the PS2. That's a greatest hits title now, so it shouldn't be too expensive either.

Thanks for the info. I guess I've played more of the action games than the turn based. It sound slike it could be fun though. I am gonna keep playing Demon Stone for a little while and then I might check out the FFX you suggested.
