Hi im not sure which one to buy Warhammer 40,000 or Rome: Total War.

Anyone get any advise>?

If you are a 40K minis player then you might be dissappointed with DoW as the armies are limited in force choices and upgrades. If you're into historicals then RTW will be your game of choice!!

IMO I think "Path finding" in DOW is bad but it's still be very very rock RTS , Actually i love skirmish of this game very much.
Rome is the superb Massive combat strategy game.

I'm currently working on my Rome: Total War AI mod. Pretty good progress so far, the game got tough as hell on the Very Hard setting. =]

Rome is not strategy, but tactics.

It's both actualy. The battles themselves are purely tactical, and there's no strategy in there, but the managing of your empire is purely strategic.

Im still havn't got either games, to many other games to finish first. I think i'll get Rome: Total War first and end up getting Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War when the price drops. Especially since i want it for single player only and the campaign is rather lacking so i've heard. Although skirmish is said to be a lot of fun. And by that time hopefully there will be some custom made skirmish maps and some mods finished. :D
