Doom 3 is not a good game!!!My first expression of that game was "Thats quite a cool game".But when i then used the gun for the first time and shot a monster, I burst into rage! When the monster died, the body vanquished and became red glowing, shiny ****!!!Doom is supposed to have lots of gore!!I Thought that the gore in Doom 3 should be more like sof2.And the game isn't scary at all, even with surround. The graphics are good thou. But Far Cry has way better graphics.Last and least BBQ.

Graphic is by my opinion better than in Far Cry but gameplay is horrible. It's boring as hell. Game is focused only on good graphic and that's all. I think that the same thing will happen to Half Life 2. But let's wait and see..

Those are the same reasons why I'm not much interested in D3...
Technically, the graphics are superb, but as far as I know the environments aren't varied and the gameplay is very repetitive.

It's ok for the most part, IMO, but the scare factor is almost completely gone shortly after getting into the game after awhile and you end up expecting and anticipating enemies popping up around you so, for me, at least, there are very few "boo!" moments anymore. I'm only up to the EnproPlant level so maybe there's even more for me to look forward to as far as getting scared but I kinda doubt it. Still, it's a decent time killer, but worth nowhere near $40-55, and if you're patient then just wait up to another year and it should be $20 or less.

I've found D3 to be quite boring as well.
The lighting is good for a modern game, but not groundbreaking. Same can be said for the graphics. Personally, I've found that the lighting and graphics in Far Cry are equal in quality compared to D3.
What can I say other than it's just not my kind of game. I passed on Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza for the same reason that I'm uninterested in D3; constantly moving through narrow corridors and shooting enemies as they pop out just doesn't hold my interest for very long at all.
As for scary, not in the slightest. I waited until nightfall before loading this game for the first time. The lights in the room were very low, the 5.1 surround sound was cranked, the gamma and brightness on my 22" monitor were set just right. And not one time did I feel scared or anxious. Clive Barker's Undying has ten times the scare factor that D3 does. And that's no joke.
Well, I'm not easily discouraged. So I remained at my system plugging away at D3 for four hours straight. I got so astoundingly bored that I actually used a cheat to give myself all of the weapons in the game so that I could try each of them out, just to break up the monotony of the game. That's friggin' sad when you have to use cheat codes not even half way through the game for the very first time just to add some semblance of entertainment back into it.
I'm sure that this game appeals to many people. Those people may find the whole scenario of moving forward through narrow corridors while shooting monsters to be fun. Move forward, shoot monster, move forward, shoot monster, move forward, shoot monster (repeat for many hours non-stop).
Ultimately, even playing with all the weapons in the game couldn't save me from extreme boredom. So I plopped Far Cry back in and absolutely relished the openness of moving around islands, taking different paths to sneak around enemies or plan surprise attacks.
I haven't played D3 since that first night. I may put it back in for one more go. Maybe there's something other than darkened narrow corridors in this game. This next time I try to play it will be the deciding factor of whether or not I sell the game just to get rid of it.

I thought D3 was boring just from playing the demo for a little while. When i first played it i thought.. "graphics are nothing special and i've been here before".
The game reminds me of Unreal and it doesn't feel like anything new. The graphics are nothing special, well, i don't think much of them at all.

I got about half way through and haven't played it for weeks now. Definitely agree on the boring aspect of it. Kind of find it draining, don't get much enjoyment out of it.

Hmmm, looks to me like Doom 3 is just whoopin' up on a lot of you "lightweight" shooters out there. Heh, heh. Edward.
