LANDS OF LORE III

Completed the volcanic caves and went back to the keep. Got the sword from Luther.My Prima Official Strategy Guide says that I will be able to smash the barrels in the kitchen. I can not. Also I went to Jerons office and the book says that after my conversation with him he will leave and I can get in and the door will lock behind me. After the conversation he doesn't leave and the door closes and locks me out. Did I do something wrong previous to this or am I doing something wrong now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh man, I used to be a fan of the Lands of Lore series. I was clueless back then...

If I remember right, and I probably don't, you'll have to take care of the next portal (Frozen Wastes?) before you can visit Jeron's office in the keep. Same thing with the barrels I assume.
