I can't say where I got it to protect the guilty. It is a retail copy which I prepaid.
I will begin by saying I like it a lot. Graphically it looks very nice. Battles are a lot of fun. Playing as the different armies is cool and gives some variety. Infantry combat is fun.
On the negative side, flying is not good. Definitely doesn't have the feel of BF1942. The maps are way too small and the controls are very consolish. The flying is a huge disappointment.
But there is enough cool, fun stuff for me to like the game a lot. It could've been the greatest game ever, but they really screwed up the flying. Stupid Lucas Arts. Chalk this one up to a good game which could've been great if they had developed it for pc only.

I never understood this and always wanted to ask....what do you mean when you say, "the controls are very consolish"? I never really got that term. In games that I played where that has been expressed, I never really felt any console-type issues in terms of control, and I am a very PC heavy player.
Thanks :)

Consolish usually refers to games that require only a handful of buttons to be played. Many arcade shooters are very consolish, where as many MMO's are very un-consolish (with the exception of FFXI).

To add on to what Donjo said, I've always found the aiming on console shooters to be very imprecise and clunky. Whenever I play Halo or Unreal Championship on the xbox I found myself longing for a keyboard and mouse.

From what i've heard its a fun game for those that like BF1942. However, just like BF1942 the single player is very lacking and its really only worth getting if you like BF1942 and Star Wars.

Sounds like flying in this game would benefit from a console-like controller plugged into a USB port.

I need help with MP LAN....
1. Out of all the maps....I can only see 2 Maps that are "Rebels vs Empire"....is there a way to pick ANY Group vs ANY group ??
2. I can't find out how to use the jetpack on the Clone Trooper.... what button do you press, or "re-map" in order to use the jetpack?
3. Is "Conquest" the only mode available on LAN?...or can you choose straight Deathmatch/Team-Deathmatch....I can't find any options for this on LAN....only Conquest mode.
4. What button do you press for the "Tow-cable" on the Snow Speeders?...I finally got my keys mapped for the Joystick,..but I can't find the key for the Tow-cable.
The manual for this game sucks big time........other than that ....I had fun playing it.

Ahh I see now, thanks a lot for the clarification
Its kinda interesting, I actually prefer less keys on my PC games, not to the point of handicapping the game, but just not having to deal with 3 pages of key configs  I understand the necessity, but sometimes they take it to another level.
Thanks again!

I've been somewhat interested in this game, but after seeing the reviews I won't be picking it up. I like Star Wars but I'll stick to the Jedi Knight games.

1) The maps are as they are. They did this I think so as to preserve the movie quality (like no clonetroopers on Endor).
2) Tap jump twice.
3) Dunno. Hehe!
4) I would like to know as well.

I learned that the two cable has to be depolyed by a second pilot, the driver cannot do it.

This game was ok. I thought it could of had more gametypes like CTF. The conquest style play gets boring after a while. The look was really good, but the flying was so-so like someone stated. I like Star Wars, but thought LucasArts would of put a little more kick into the game. Especially when your forking out $40-$50 bucks. I play PC games, so this must suck on console.
